So I was at the park this past weekend and I saw LAFF. I thought it was slot better than in years past everything seemed to come together this year from the casting and jokes to the lights and sound which I thought were great. I was wondering what others thought of the show this year.
I want to ask a favor to anyone that has a camera, I won't be going to FF this season, due to financial situations, could somebody please tape LAFF for me and I would gladly reimburse you for the tape or dvd or whatever you use. LAFF is my all-time favorite show and this season is the first time that I won't see it live in seven years. If anyone is interested please e-mail me at miguelestrada18@aol.com ,Thanks.
Whizzer is the best roller coaster in MY WORLD!
Some people take roller coasters as rides, some as passions,I take them as life!
Taping the show is not very easy to do. First of all, the cast moves around so much, and its so dark, most videos come out like crap. You really don't want to disturb others around you, so you can't be moving around trying to follow the action on stage. Secondly, its hard to hold a camera still for 45 minutes, so most videos are very shaky. There are a number of decent Youtube videos. I doubt you will find the WHOLE show tho...good luck.
I love LAFF. it was great this year. so many great jokes!!! haha. I didn't get to make a video but I did take A TON of pictures. Some of em are pretty good. I did find one video from 2008 but it's only of the part where Drac sings "I put a spell on you" lucky me its my favorite part of the show!!!

Pix? Link? Photobucket? Imageshack?
yeah this year they are busting anyone. Im thinking they think the more tapes out, the less people come. But I think its the opposite. Show a lil bit and people want more.
I went last Friday just to see the layout this year and see the shows and parade. It sucked they put DMP at the train station for the last show.

They dont care if you record video. I recorded the whole thing and no one said anything. I also saw 2 people with tri pods and no one cared.

Well the thing is...if you read the back of a show guide it specifically says "All photographs and videos taken by our guests are for their personal use only. Any use, reuse or reproduction for commerical use without the express written consent of Six Flags is prohibited...." Blah blah blah....So basically it's alright to take videos and such of the shows...They only really care about flash photography, as they say before the show starts..

That's only for capacity issues in Snowshoe Taphouse. It's a popular show, and the venue fills up too quickly, so lately they have been using the train station for their last performance of the day.
When i went to see LAFF last weekend, I asked the attendant out front if i can take pics and she said its ok as long as the flash (blinds/distracts the cast)is not used like it says on the show guide. I always thought that the show was allowed to be video taped.Maybe they decided to stop for some reason.
Not to get off topic, but for DMP, I was expecting the fast cap outs because of the size of the tap house. I was surprised when they put a popular show in a place that small. I lucky enough to be able to see it twice this year and both time we just barely got a seat because all they have basically is the couple rows of folding chairs and the normal dinning tables in front of the stage and area in front of bar which is already partially occupied ahead of time by patrons at the drink bar. It was amazing seeing the faces of the people that come through the swinging doors and leave raging mad because of the low capacity. Oh, well....maybe if it return next year it will be in a different place.
In response to the DMP discussion, if they wouldnt have torn down the old theater, they would still have ample seating for the show and wouldnt have to jockey it around like a game of 3 Card Monty. If they are going to have it in a smaller theater, do more shows, especially over the weekend.
They can substitute some members of the cast to give them a break between shows if thats a problem, but they can also do a shortened set like Show Stoppin did this year (they didnt do every song every time).
But I kind of like the "personal setting" to it in Snowshoe.
So what are the changes in the cast this year? What are their vocal abilities? I'm curious. I havent been able to go yet due to the fact that my dad's job sucks and the fact that he won't let me drive through Chicago...well I never actually asked but I guess thats because I just want him to go with me.
there are a few cast changes, there is only one witch again, and it's a different person than before, now it's a heavyset girl with a really good singing voice. I'm not sure but I think the former witch actor is now Janet (I think that's the female co-star's name, going off Rocky Horror though). Frankenstein is being played by a black guy with a goatee which looks weird, but his abilities make up for it. Just saw it last night for the first time this year and I think the end result is really good. And in case anyone who hasnt seen it yet, all the rotating jokes for this year are political in nature, generally making fun of Sarah Palin, though there is another one in there with Teen Ms. USA. If anyone hasnt seen it, I highly recommend seeing it this year, in fact I may vote for it for best production for the next golden ticket award, though admittedly I dont see many shows.

I was reading another topic about LAFF 08 and it got closed, but I wanted to interject something.
as far as characters are concerned there are more returning cast members from last year then most people think. Shall we break it down?
Jack: New Katie: Red Witch from last year Witchie: Hag from last year Frankie: Jack from last year Ghostina: Katie from last year Dracula: same from last year Vampira: Same from last year Bride: same as in '05 and '06 Zombina: New Wolfie: New Igor: New Hag: New
ps...I have a random question. I have seen the show a few times this year and there is one joke that they seem to change quite a bit... it has been different every time I have seen it. Does anybody know what's up with that?
^ The joke that is being changed is the Frank joke, just before he goes back "to the drawing board"
The first weekend, it was the "because I'm Green" joke. Last weekend, it was "Chunky" soup. And this weekend, it was the top hat and "Putting on the Ritz".
I think they just didn't like the way the joke was coming off at first, tried to change it, and it sucked again. The new version is ok...
