Now, it is done, the season is over, and the buyers come tomorrow. With that said, I managed last public ride row 1B and last ACE ride row 3B. Farewell Vu and thanks for the memories.

Universal Orlando Mechanical Engineer Marathon down, Goofy to go.
so its official? they are 100% taking it down? What a shame to see a ride go, waste of money to take it down so quickly. I guess they have to do whats best for business. I didnt get one ride on it this season, I'm kinda bummed. I just never wanted to wait 90 minutes or longer for it. Thats okay though, hopefully something good will take its place. Sorry all you Deja Vu Fans.
It was never announced over the intercom of the ride, but talking to the full time, that is what I have found out. They did kind of mention it on the third ride of the ACE event, it was done metaphorically and in a hidden message.

Everyone was saying that there was a surprise. And then some managment guy was like "Im going to run the ride in manual mode" and then everyone got all happy. Then guess what, there wasnt a miscatch and I was so disapointed. My last ride on Vu was me waiting for something and nothing ever happened. But at least I got last public ride and got to re-ride it twise during the ACE event.

We're talking about SFGAM's (Gurnee) Vu. As for why? I don't know anything official, but I'd guess because until this year it wasn't very reliable and even when it was people complained about the awful wait time to get on it.
Now I'm super pissed.. Because it wasn't open Friday. That was the only day that I could have went because I go to siuE in Edwardsville which is in the middle of nowhere.. This blows, I hope when the buyers come to look at it, It just throws up on them or something special like that.

Everytime that I went to the park besides Friday Deja has been up and running! People just go on the wrong days. It has A LOT of up time.
Very glad we had that event, thanks for putting that together Scott!
Even though I didn't get any 1A or 1B in rides in at night, I'm just happy I got on for it's last couple rides.
Deja Vu being removed from Six Flags Great America The Deja Vu roller coaster at Six Flags Great America ran for its final time on October 28th. The sign below hung in the operator booth all day and the rides removal was confirmed to the enthusiasts that got the after hours last rides on the coaster.
I will most def. miss Vu. She was one of the best rides at the park and the highlight of my visits. Although It's been over 2 years since I got to ride her at GAm, I was fortunate to take a last ride on her at SFoG.
I was able to get one public ride and the last ACE ride in 8B. What I'm mad about is that there are no plans for the space next year so Deja Vu should still be here next season. I heard the B&M dive machine rumor a few times and I hope it doesn't come true. Deja Vu is my favorite ride at GAm and I will miss it very much.
Its always sad to lose a coaster, but with this ride and how often is was done, there is much less sadness.
So hopefully we will get a very good coaster to take its place, a Dive machine would be awesome as would almost any B & M coaster that we could get as there rides are great with few problems that plagued DeJaVue.
it was a great night last night. It was sad riding it for the last time, and today it's really setting in that I'll never ride that ride again. I hope we get something really good fill that spot. Until then, we can frolick in the space for awhile...
I hope a buyer never comes so Deja Vu can sit on Shockwave's hill and we can get a million "I heard Deja Vu is coming back" threads.
Hahah. Me too. How much are they wanting for Deja? Is that including all the wood platforms that were built? I really, really, really, hope that it valleys today when they are showing the buyers operations and maybe even some free rides?
Don't worry, I'm still pissed, but I guess it's for the better. Maybe we'll get a new floorless or something better. Doubtfully but maybe.
Also.... I heard they are bringing back Shockwave and put it in Dejas place except they are adding a 500 foot lift hill to it.
