If people make a mess more, expect more people to be ejected from the park. Shaprio is serious about policy enforcement and that includes ejecting repeat offenders.
First, you can not eject everyone. If you do soon you will have no customer left. It’s called customer service. By putting that on backs of everyone shirts it makes Six Flags appear that they are so cheap to hire floor sweepers to sweep the floor path that they had to put this message on everyone’s shirts so that the park is kept clean. That’s what its going to mean to people.
^^ I see it more as a friendly reminder than the park is too cheap to hire employees...it's just common sense.
Plus the whole ejection thing main target is repeat offenders. I doubt Six Flags will go and be that strict and kick everyone out after an initial incident. It seems to me it would end up being the people who fail to comply and challenge the park policy the 3rd-4th time around.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I have heard that the company was looking in the direction of going entirely smoke-free, but the stricter enforcement was put into play to see if that would help. I wouldn't be shocked if the parks were entirely smoke-free after this season if the parks didn't commit to these policies.

The park has people to clean up throughout the day (and a whole 3rd shift park cleanup after close).
The message isnt say "we're to cheap to clean up" its saying "Please dont trash my park!" Theres a lot of parks out there now that have signs and reminders on the park maps saying "Please keep our park clean, put trash in its place!" (I remember SFSTL had signs and Holiday World has it in their map).

SF corporate is very much into improving the atmosphere of their parks and this is their way of doing. Shapiro has made it very clear to park management that the parks may be going entirely smoke free sometime in the future, he wants the smoke out of peoples faces. One of the top complaints SF corporate got last year was the enforcement of the policies, so they're going to do the most drastic measures to fix it. Itd be silly to be offended by a shirt like that.

Most all guests stand in line without cutting, smoke only in the designated smoking areas, and dont cause any issues. There are a few 'bad apples' out there that cause trouble for everyone else and dont care and I think thats who the park is going to get on.
You're all taking the shirt way to seriosley. Its not even meant to be bossy, just a reminder. I can tell you at training this year they shove policy enforcement down the team members throats and I think it will be stepped up, and added these shirts. They're just doing it because thats what people told them to do.

I think it is tacky as best, and ugly and useless at worst.
These shirts will do nothing to stop people from making a mess, the job is to have a enviroment where these people will feel out of place if they are making a mess, and that is done by having enough employee's working so any mess made is immediately cleaned up. I hope they make sure the employee's have shirts tucked in and that pants arent half way down the employee's rear end. Employee's wearing a proper fitting/properly worn unifrom also enhances the family atmosphere.
I would much perfer that every section of the park have uniforms that reflect that part of the park they work in, rather han the generiac uniforms that they have now.

I never see any GAm team members walk around with their shirt untucked.
My theory on why they had these shirts printed up...ok they're going the whole family friendly route, correct? Think about it: the more kids there are, the more messes to clean up. Its kind of a catch 22, they want more families and crap, but with more people (especially little people) comes more messes. They should put signs up that say "While we are happy you have chosen this park to bring your brats, make sure you watch them throw that wrapper in the trashcan, because last season, we got tired of cleaning up after them." Re phrased of course, something along those lines. I think its funny.
It seems to me that hiring more people to clean is better. I mean if they are guests shouldnt the hosts be obligated to clean any messes. Yes its true guests should clean up after themeseves, but putting it on the uniform is tacky. It was a good thaught, but its being applied in a bad way, in at least my opinion.
Remember, there's nothing but air beneath the chair.
SFGAM07, I never said there are no cleaning employees. I am doing from a Customer stand point. When you read it first thing comes to your mind is cheap. Cheaply made shirts I might add and to top of that a message that is kind of rude depending on the customer who reads it.
That being said, No park has ever put such a message on the back of there employees shirts. If you go to Disney World you will notice the park is spot less. There is not a tinny crumb on the floor and you never see anyone smoking anywhere. Why? Its simple, they have several floor sweepers who solo job is to sweep the floor and empty the trash can in a very small section of the park. This keeps the park clean and also keeps the employees very visible, who helps keep the park clean and employees that can help customers with any questions and enforce any rules that need to be enforced. Disney World does not have any signs about line jumping, smoking or keeping the park clean yet the park seems not to have any of these problems. Why does Disney not put signs? Well because most people do not read them anyhow and it ruins the show part of the park.

Never EVER tell your guests that you'll clean up after them, because the priviledge is abused! And that's coming from someone who has a very messy dorm room at the moment....
To me, I don't see a reason to complain about the shirts. No one seriously reads what the back of people's shirts say, and if someone does, they'll just turn away if they don't like it. It's basically just there as a quick reminder and an aid when the rude customer replies with a "i didn't know that was a rule" answer towards their behavior. It's no different than having a sponser's logo on the back. Not worth the complaints if you ask me!
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
I am kind of on the fence with this one. Is it tacky? Sure, but on the other hand, what excatly is the problem? Is it how its worded, or is it because you throw your trash in the trash and do your part to keep the park clean and find it offensive? Either way, its not going to stop the people who don't give a damn, and throw their garbage on the ground, from doing it. In fact, it might even encourage them to do it more. It all comes down to having to ENFORCE the policy. I can't tell you how many times I have seen people smoking outside the smoking areas as an employee walks right by, and says nothing.
If it walks like socialist, quacks like socialist, smells like a socialist, .... it's a socialist. Hope, and change we can believe in.
I Think not only are the shirts Tacky, but you are insulting the guests.
You are basically telling the guests that they are a bunch of slobs that never clean up after themselves. The saying on the shirt is also tasteless : Please keep the park clean, because MY FAMILY comes here too.
It just sounds so stuck up. Keep the park clean for the sake of the employees.
Wow, I never seen a more useless thread of over analyzing a damn shirt. It's like the sports analysts over analyzing every major sporting event. It's a shirt, it's a friendly reminder, that's it, nothing more. And the number of times I have seen the word tacky, don't you have any better words to use? or only tacky? No one here is telling anyone that they are this or that, the shirts are only a reminder, not an insult or an attack on some people. It's just the way SF wants to advertise to people to keep the park clean and you really shouldn't have a problem with that. If you do have a problem, find something better to do with your life cause you obviously don't have anything to do except worry about every little thing SFGAm does. So, you will see this shirts, unless SF changes their minds, so get used to it.
