At No Coaster Con the entertainment director announced that they will be producing an All New In House musical in the Grand Music hall. That was all that was stated, but just the fact that Grand Music Hall is getting a real musical again is pretty exciting. Let us just hope this show is not lip singing.
It seems as this year is going to be an extremely aggressive year in the shows department. Almost seems as if they are aspiring to steal the Golden Ticket from Fiesta Texas. Any thoughts?
I love the shows at SFGAM every year. The only show I ever dissaproved of was the TOONite show. Other than that, i always leave a show satisfied. I hope this one lives up to that.
"Oh My Gosh, She is such a whore!" - heard behind me exiting Raging Bull.
for me, the shows in the grand music hall have been iffy depending on the year. For 2003, i very much disliked the ice show. maybe it was the fact that one skater completely got a bunch of ice in my face....and that bugged me. 2004 was the magic show, and i really liked it. most people i heard from said they thought it was horrible, but i found James Brandon amusing. 2005 was circo, and I wasn't crazy about this one either. Some stuff was cool, but I just wansn't into the whole circus...type of theme. 2006 was tribute, and that was cool. I really liked the idea.
so for me it really depends on the year. I hope this year's show is good. I hope this show is good, because though i've heard very little about it, it sounds like it may be kind of fun.

I got hit by a Circo person in 2005...
http://themeparkcritic.com/scripts/profile/ViewProfile.asp?ViewID=2909 A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!
From what I heard GMH will host and in house tribute type show with an American Music emphasis. To me this would mean more genres of music than last year but that is just a guess
Well, although I loved the magic show, it's nice to see a musical going on in the Grand MUSIC hall! I always liked them, they were the only reason for my dad going to the park, so it'll be a nice insentive this year too. We'll have to see how good it is come openning day!
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter

It's funny how American Idol always refers to these performers as "Amusement Park" singers, you both bring up a good point in this. It's not that they are bad, cause i've seen many (if not all) talented performers here, but none that really stand out. More of a reason to get a show with a spectacular thesis and compositioning to the park. Lets hope this year proves these statements to be wrong.

I like the concept of the Toonite show more then I like the show itself. And Spirit of America/Six Flags Party is a good way to open the day...especially in the summer when they had the Looney Tunes Ride in on a trolley.
And I gotta say there was one performer who's voice really stood out to me this year. (Directed Towards Bob O) He was covered in Moss During "Welcome to My Nightmare" During FF. (The Trolley show) and had a solo in the "Dancing in the streets/get up and dance" Medley during Bugs Bunny's Starlight spectacular this summer. Very Distinctive, Very Powerful Voice...Also You have to recognize when you think about the performers that many are hired soley as dancers and then end up singing because six flags has no more money to hire more singers...
Premiering May 26 in the 1,450-seat Grand Music Hall this year is “Show Stoppin’,” an all-new show celebrating popular music genres like country, rock, pop, and R&B. Featuring four lead vocalists and 10 backup vocalists and dancers, this 40 minute music spectacular will rock your socks off with the latest American music hits and never-before-heard musical compilations.
