I visited SFGAM on 06/19/06 and when we went to ride Viper the employee who limits the amount of people in the station was trying to make people go in certain rows or front/back of the que line.
How long have they been doing this, since i have never been told where to sit on Viper before and they werent doing this the last time I visited which was about 10 days ago. The first lady who told me this claimed it has always been this way but that is BS.
And the crew on Viper yesterday was just slowest i have ever seen for that ride. Which was the opposite of any other ride i was on yesterday as the crews did a great job mvoing thru the lines on a day the park wasnt that busy.
When i visited the ride earlier this year, or last year they would allow only a certain amount of people in the station but then allow people to chose whatever line they wanted to go in. And this worked well as some would go for the front or back and wait a little while most would just go for whatever line is shortest.
And that is what they did for Whizzer when i rode it and they had someone limiting how many pewople were in the station.
they made us sit back i wanted front but no complaints anymore viper rocks in the back seat

I wouldn't insult the viper crew- they won crew of the week on monday and that was their second time already this year. I know they had to shut it down for a while because of someone throwing up in the car, so that may have had something to do with it.

There are more than one crew that for viper. When Jan was in the crew one time they went very fast and still allowed us to sit where we want. The crew on 6/19 was very slow and didn't allow us to sit where we would like. I'm guessing this crew wasn't the crew of the week.
Well that happened and they were like excuse me...this row please. They aren't as customer friendly as they used to be. They act all snotty about it too.
I like this much, much better. I really don't care about what row I'm sitting in, or how long I have to wait. I just hate it when so many people are shoved into one tiny space like that!

i think this is a good thing because viper especially got really crowded and crazy in the station. it was nearly impossible to find two rows so you could sit with your whole party. i wish they would have someone directing you to rows because they would make sure you and your friends end up on the same train. just like at disney. also it wouldn't be bad because you could request the front or back if you wanted.
We requested for where we wanted to go and she said that she wanted us to in the row that was empty. Me and my dad just said we'll wait. Why should we wait longer just to go into a seat we prefer?? That's stupid. I prefer the back basically for one reason- airtime! I very rarely go in the fron, but if I do i'm going to be in first row. The middle to me is just boring. Nothing really to it. I liked it the other way of letting less people into the station. They let so many people into the station and then you pick where you want to sit-simple.
They are told to assign two people per row, but if the people have a row preference, they are supposed to let them either wait or fill in behind that row. They are also only supposed to send in 1 full train load, and at the beginning, they allow you to pick your row, but when there is only 2 or 3 empty rows, they want to fill it, so they tell you to go there. You can refuse that seat and request your preferred seat, then they are supposed to allow you to do that. They do hold you back like that to relieve the station of congestion, which makes the operators job easier and allows them to be more concerned on operating the ride rather than having to watch the people in the station too.
Universal Orlando Mechanical Engineer Marathon down, Goofy to go.
Last time I was there, there was someone standing in the station holding people each cycle so it wouldnt get crowded. Once you got past them, you could pick any seat you wanted.

I like the idea of limiting the amount of people in the station as it makes it much more comfortable and cooler.
But limiting the amount of people in the station shouldnt result in being told where to sit and how they were doing is was resulting in extras time as not every row would be filled when trains exited/entered the station.
And while the ride crew of Viper may have wqon awards in the past, and usually the crew on this ride is good, on 6/19 which was monday the crew was just awful!!!!!!!!
I've noticed different employees have different styles for grouping. Some will just let you in, and some will assign seats. I dont' think they should assign seats unless there's an empty row and the group doesn't care where they go. But, whatever. And as far as slow employees, they are usually pretty fast for me, but it is the beginning of the summer, so they could be getting new employees who aren't as fast as those who were there in the spring, so they'll probably improve.

Two clarifications: 1. That crew was crew of the week, they won it that day. 2. The groupers are not even part of the crew, they are usually fifteen year olds brought in.

I wasn't talking about the groupers. The cast members took about 6 minutes loading the train. On other days I've went on it tooke them usually 2 or 3 minutes. If they were crew of the week, I wouldn't want to know how the other crews were doing. And the grouper was a full grown adult. Maybe in her 30s or 40s.
not everyone who goes to the park is a coaster fanatic and a good majority of those people don't care what row they get. i don't mind waiting for the next train to get the back. i like the organization much better than the chaos that existed before. you could barely tell which row you were in line for.
If that was the crew of the week, then it had to be a joke of a vote!!!
That was the SLOWEST crew i dealt with day and i dont recall a slower crew on any other ride all year. The crew that had lifeguards on it at the end of last year was much more quicker and had some personality which made for more fun than the people who moving at a sloth like pace on 6/19.
Now on 6/19 the Raging Bull crew did do a great job, and the green ornamnet crew did a very good job considering the problems the ride was having.
