I watched the parade for my first time of the year last night, and the song Dancin in the Street was being played. It is a catchy tune, and I did some researching. I found it was sung by Martha and the Vandellas. I found the song and listened to it, however, and it sounded different than the one at the parade. Does anyone have the file or song actually used at the parade?
Coasters Ridden: 131 Top 5: Maverick, El Toro, Voyage, Fahrenheit, Dominator
For some reason when they play a song at Great America it always sounds alittle different then a MP3 version. I've noticed it at Batman alot (In My Memory sounds alot different on B:TR then the mp3).
If you can't find it, bring a tape recorder or a digital voice recorder or something and try to record it. It wont be the best quality but it's close.

They've been playing the song for awhile now, at least since 1994. I imagine they recorded a special edition for it or maybe the record a new one every year. I haven't been to a parade in over 6 years.
Yes the song Dancin in the Street was sung by Martha and the Vandellas. But thats the original. They did do a remake of it. Myra sang it. It does sound way more catchy that the original. Try that. That could be it (I havent seen the parade this year)
It's green. It's blue. It's all over you! Enjoy your ride on Déjà Vu
It's actually not just dancing in the streets, it's a medley with another song, i'm not sure of the title but the main line is "Get up and Dance" This medley was used with interjected Looney Tunes Lines for the Jumpin Jammin' Jubilee Pre-Show For Several Years. I'm pretty sure they just took out the looney tunes lines and used their old recordings for starlight spectacular.

i recorded it once, but didn't get the last song because we were in the parade that day. I have songs 1-4 of the jumpin jammin jubilee, but it's attached to the 2004 World of Magic show in the Grand Music Hall.
