Ragin Cajun enclosed?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby zjohn1988 on May 30th, 2006, 1:54 pm
So I thought about something the other day...

Ragin Cajun doesnt get many riders...Neither does Space Shuttle America....

I know this wont happen, but what if SSA had been removed and Ragin Cajun been placed in the building? Of course the building would need to be a tad higher and a bit wider but I bet it would draw more guests to ride it. The track could be black and have glow in the dark cars. What does everyone think about it?

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

That would be really cool if that happened because it may make the ride a bit more interesting because you wouldnt really know whats coing next unless you already rode it alot.

Good idea. I've always liked the idea of enclosing Ragin Cajun.

Throw some theming inside along with the ride....and that would be a hit ride.

Much as Kennywood did with Exterminator...

Same ride, same concept.

I think Ragin Cajun would be a great enclosed coaster..it has an enclosed brother at Mt. Olympus "Opa" I believe.

That's actually a great idea. RC is insane out in the open. I can only imagine what it'd be like in the dark. Plus, it's a cheap way for GAm to get a "new" ride.

Well actually as I think about it, RC would need a different layout. Its too compact right now. It would need to be spread out to make a good storyline and theming so other cars arent flying around everywhere.

It would also need to run 14 cars like Primeval Whirl does. ;)

They would also need to redo the cars and everything, because it's curently Mardi Gras themed. But it is a great idea.

Well i meant before we got it. Its too late in my opinion to change it now..

The layout would be fine the way it is now..Primevil Whirl has stuff all over the place.

I think thats an awesome idea. I've never been on an indoor rollercoaster. It could be air conditioned and dark and play cool music, maybe a new theme every month or so...

NOt true actually. If its spread out then it cant fit inside of a building. And all you would need to do is put up walls or scenery. And if the cars arent glow in the dark it wouldnt matter anyway.
YEA!!!! THREE MONTHS TO GO!!!!!!!

John, what we really need is for the crew to get faster *cough* and then to have the ride programmed like Primevil Whirl is at AK, which is the cars constantly move throughout the station which leads to a much greater capacity overall. But mainly having a faster crew so that 6th car can be put to use will help the capacity.

Oh and if it for some reason were to ever be enclosed, it better have A/C. I do agree though that the one thing this park is really "missing" is a dark ride.

Hrm...maybe it's just me...but I rarely see it stack this year (like it did last year). Maybe that's because they can load multiple cars at one time now?

As for being like Primeval Whirl, it would require a moving platform and block sections all the way through the lift. Basically, $$$.

^Dont forget theres only 5 cars on right now..Its pathetic if it stacks..

I know there has been a lot of complaints though on the capacity and the fact that most parties are seperated when they have 4 riders, for a car designed for 4 people. I know the reasons for this, but they dont.

I think enclosing the ride would only make it better if it was a themed ridelike Exterminator at Kennywood whoch i thought was a excellant ride. And while RC isnt my favorite type of coaster because it upsets my stomach, i think the theming would help in that i wasnt as bothered as much by the one at Kennywood like i am sometimes on RC.

Viperchick, also make sure you ride Space Mountain at wdw which is also enclosed.
And probably the best indoor roller coaster is at Universal Studio's-The Mummy ride!!!

Rock N Roller Coaster is AMAZING. You'll love it Viperchick. Its also better if you like Aerosmith (like I do) because if you do, the ride will be a little bit more fun (than it already is)
It's green. It's blue. It's all over you! Enjoy your ride on Déjà Vu

I'm going to try to ride everything I can...I've always wanted to go there since I was a little kid but we could never afford it. Now I'm 21 and I'm as excited as an 8 year old. :) I'll be sure to let you all know how it went. Hopefully its not too crowded.
