Parking elsewhere

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

My husband and I just bought our season passes last weekend, but we did not have enough left over to buy a parking pass for at least two more visits. Is there any place to park - LEGALLY- nearby where we wouldn't have to pay for parking? Somewhere within walking distance or somewhere that offers a low cost shuttle service? We usually only stay from about 10-2, so we wouldn't be there all day. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Sorry, I have no idea. My parents or my friends parents always just use the drop-off area. You could try somewhere like the Burger King or the Subway across the street because it's not too far of a walk.
i'm rocking the suburbs, just like quiet riot did...

You can try the shopping centers across Grand Ave from the park entrance, but that is parking illegally.

You might be able to get away with parking in the neighborhoods, but again on the North side of Grand. Don't park in the residential area adjacent to the park. They will call the cops to tow your car.

You could try parking at Gurnee Mills and then ride Pace bus 565 to the park and then ride Pace bus 565 again to go back to Gurnee Mills. They have a bus stop near the entrace of Great America and when youre going back to Gurnee Mills the bus stop is right in front of Burger King the gurnee mills bustop is at JCpenney youl see it. It will costs you $1.50 per adult you can go to their website pacebus.com for schedule and costs. One problem with this is that you cant stay in the park till closing because the bus only pass by the park on certain hours so go to their website for more info about their schedule. I hope this helps a little.

Probably the best option to park illegally would be to park in the lot of a nearby hotel.
Ive been told that the mall across the street checks cars for illegal parking, i would guess the hotels which have different guests every day might not check as closely as the mall does.

Hotels tend to ask for your license plate number, don't they?

Anyways I'd definitely go for Gurnee Mills, or a random neighborhood.

Yeah, my guess would be Gurnee Mills since it would be hard to try and accuse someone of not being at the mall and the odds of them taking your car at random to check and see would be rare. However, there is no legal place to park for Six Flags other than at the park.
