But just for fun,
Saturday, 4/29/06 Forecast

A mix of clouds and sun. Windy and chilly
High 62
Low 39

Assuming that forecast from accuweather doesn't change (which it will), my prediction awhile back was pretty damn close :D

1. Accuweather sucks.
2. Never belive any forcast that is more then, at the most, 5 days out(even that is pushing it).

I won't be able to go to opening day as I'll be in Springfield. I'll definetly try to go the weekend after that(assuming I got my season pass by then).
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/

Just looking at the latest model runs, they are picking up on a Low racing out of the 4 corners region Friday Night. Track appears to be across Central Illinois. This means that there is a good chance of a good long heavy rain in N.Illinois (think sunday night).

Too far out to say though.

I actully think I'd be pretty sweet if it was raining. First , would it mean less crowds, and secondly, coaster in the rain are fun to me. Bear in mind this is just my personal opinion. 8)

I agree, American Eagle runs best in the rain. Also every ride just becomes a water ride.

Yes, yes it does. Eagle and Viper in the rain seem so much faster, and nothing is better than getting soaked on a coaster. I even like the stinging of old rain on my face.

Why do you want it to storm?
Then they shut down the rides (if there is lightning) and also everyone leaves.

I heard that it is going to rain for Six Flags Great America's opening day.
I was watching the weather channel this morning and they said that there were going to be thunderstorms on Saturday, but the weather could change by then.

and this is true how? I got rained out July 26th or so, and it rained for a good 3 hours.

As for rain on the 29th, I've heard showers, but no Thunderstorms. But that forecast will undoubtabley change as we get closer to ther opening.

Well as the day draws ever more closer, weather.com is saying cloudy all day, rain, and a high of 57 degrees, cold + cloudy + opening day = empty park!

It's not going to be a nice forecast. See the thread in the Off Topic forum, me and mike are competing to see who writes a better forecast.

So, do you think this weather will cause any ride closures? I really hope it doesn't.

Seriously. I'm trying to make plans to go this sunday. I just hope weather.com is wrong, god knows it has been before.

To answer my own question, most rides were closed for maybe a half an hour or so.
