Eagles Helix and SUF update

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby CoasterDave316 on January 12th, 2003, 6:31 pm
I went to Six Flags today and took some pics, as far as S:UF is concerned theres nothing that I noticed that was new since these photos:(I did not take the following pics, somebody on Coasterbuzz did:)http://groups.msn.com/SFGAmSuperman/sfgamsuperman.msnw?Page=LastSo I probally won't post the photos I took of that, since they came out crappy anyhow thanks to the sun.Eagle's Helix however has been completely retracked and looked finished to me. There was a small crane in the middle of the helix that I could see, ill post some photos of that in a little bit once I recharge my cameras batteries.

I think that the helix will be alot nicer this year, Maybe they can turn off the brakes up top now now cause its more stronger. I didnt think that the old helix could handle the train barreling down it. Maybe thats why they added trims at the end of the helix when you drop and go into the bunnies!!!

Did you ride it at all last year? There was one ride the whole year where it trimmed. The rest were full force Eagle. I think the only time I had brakes was on red, in summer. Early in the year and late in the year it was a great ride, in my opinion rivaling Viper. The helix could handle it just fine.

The brakes varied by day, it wasn't a seasonal thing at all. Even a few hours difference and the brakes could be different. I rode it once in the morning one day with no trims, and at night the same day with very hard trims.

Okay let's face it, we are all going through withdrawal. I think the only thing I need is a ride on a new coaster! Or an old coaster would even work. Just to take a stroll down the midway would be nice. :D

Yes, lots of onride videos. I have discovered so many new sites with POV videos. It helps so much. Watching those videos is helping the coaster addiction we all have. It's like chewing the nicorette gum... except we have no intention of dropping our addiction!

I'm actually doing fine... School is keeping me really busy so I don't have much time to think about how much I miss GAm... But I seriously do miss it, it'll be that much better though the first time we go to the park this season!

So thats what they were doing to the Eagle. I noticed the crane and the dudes working on it everytime I went this offseason. Cool!
