Hello well I was wondering if you could give me some tips on how to be less scared when I go on Raging Bull for the first time this May for my birthday. I'm very scared of heights, and well as embarrassing as it is, I am a screamer. I'm a terrible, girly, annoying-kind of screamer. Any tips on trying to approach it a little calmer? Also, I wanted to try Demon, which I didn't want to before because I didn't really want to get stuck, and almost every time I'm at SFGAm I see it get stuck. Does it really stop that often, or do I have terrible timing?

So, for a first-timer on Bull with my situation/conditions, how scary is it really? And for Demon? I'm not scared of loops  .

Much Love,
Danielle.

p.s. I really hope I don't sound too weird/stupid
p.p.s. These aren't my first coasters. My favorites (in no specific order) are Viper, B:TR, and of course Whizzer. Sorry if there's been some confusion about that.. :?

Hello and welcome to the boards... The first time for Bull, the best thing is to not think about what it will be like. Also, for a lesser intense ride, sit in rows 2-5. Also, dont double think it, just sit down and pull down the harness and dont think about how scary it may be. You will be nervous but after it is all done, you will have enjoyed it. Also, it is all cool to scream, people do it all the time, dont be embarrassed to scream, it is actually considered normal.

Raging Bull is not that bad the first time, it is very smooth which makes it funner and less scary. My advise is maybe try to work your way up and try something easier before raging bull.
Also you have to remember it is not often a ride will get stuck.

I was the same way, only not as bad. What worked for me was going withs some friends and waiting for a time when there is almost no line, because the hardest part will be waiting in line thinking about what is going to happen next. (or at least it was for me) By the way, welcome to the boards, and your going to love Raging Bull.

Raging Bull is seriously a breeze. It will probably be lots of fun for you. In my opinion, the most intense ride in the park is Fiddler's Fling by the way. The time in line goes fast because of the parks maintaining many trains on Raging Bull. If you can do Fiddler's Fling, you can do anything. No one believes me though. :?

Just a little something...

Just hold on, scream, and don't think about it.

And that's all you'll ever need.

I'd say Giant Drop is the most intense, FF is intense but not scary. Raging Bull mid train has less airtime on the first drop than Demon's first drop. Ride mid train first, front row second, sixth row third, 7th row fourth, and ride Backrow for your 5th ride. You'll never look back, trust me. But the scariest ride in my opinion is American Eagle, the first drop is airtime heaven, and backrow feels just like falling, but that's my favorite coaster.

Youll find if you sit in rows 2-5 the ride really isn't that "scary" at all. After the first drop it's actually quite tame. Yes there are really big hills but it's so smooth it will feel like a car ride. Quite honestly if you can handle American Eagle or Viper you are more than ready for Raging Bull. You just need to coax yourself onto it.

Just let the ride set you free man!!
Ride the V2 in the rear seat and just let go, then and only then will you have harnessed your chee. I used to be the same way but now tall fast roller coasters are how i like to relax, call me crazy but how found somthing i truly enjoy. So give it shot and you might feel the same way.

Screamers make the ride more fun, nothing like knowing someone else next to you is scared to death.

I've never seen Demon get stuck, and chances of it getting stuck upside down are one ina million if not higher.

Don't be scared, ride them a few times and it will go away.

You'll be fine. Raging Bull was my 2nd real coaster ever. 1st being Batman The Ride. So just sit back and relax. Pull your harness down tighter for ease of mind (even though i leave a little space..but what enthusiast doesnt?) Take a deep breath, and let yourself know that its all gonna be over in a little over 2 minutes. The first drop is the worst part. And that in itself isnt even bad at all. It feels like your floating on air, its such an amazing feeling. So just relax and enjoy Raging Bull. My most important tip...DO NOT close your eyes. Closing your eyes makes the feeling of falling 10% worse. So as scared as you may be, just keep your eyes open. HAVE FUN!! and GOOD LUCK!!

Raging Bull is amazing I have chickened out of it sooooo many times and just last year when we went the day before halloween to fright fest, i went on it for the first time...... i was pretty darn nervous... once we were over the first drop, i screamed "THIS IS AWESOME!!!" it is the best ride ever and i regret not going on it until then....just ride it you will LOVE IT...
i thought Batman was the best.....then Raging Bull changed my mind

I don't leave space either, but usually on Viper, the lapbar doesn't go down all the way anyway.

Seriously, the first time I went on it was pitch black I sat in last row all the way to the left. If its bright and you sit in rows 3-6 and you sit in the middle you'll feel scared still. Going up the hill is scarier than going down it anyway. The feeling of going the first hill is nothing you think it's going to be. You think that your heart will feel all tingly but it's pretty much the same as American Eagles first drop. So ride american eagle, then ride bull.

Also, Screaming makes rides less scary anyway.

well, maybe closing your eyes might help....i think i did that my first time, and i was fine. It's a really fun ride, one of my faves. If you're unsure about it, then don't go on it though. like everyone else said rows 2-5 are less intense.

I first rode RB when I was nine or ten, and belive me, I was scared to death. There's really not much you can do to prepare yourself except hold on tight and scream your head off. I actually found myself putting my hands up in the middle of the ride the first time I rode it even though I was so scared going down the drop. As soon as you get off, you'll be wanting to do it again.

Me and u have the same thing in common I'm a Screamer but i'm not scared of heights. I'm a boy too but my family just laugh at me when i scream so basically it doesn't matter. but this is what u do.

When ever you get to the top close your eyes and then once u go down open them. It helped for my cousin. Also if u like to curse try cursing while u go down.(LOL Just kidding)

I hope this helps you get rid of your fear of heights.

I'm in the same exact position, except I'm not a screamer at all. I wanted to ride it last year but completely pussied out, this year I want to go for it.

I have been on coasters before: Batman, Superman (loved it), Whizzer, Demon. Out of all them the first drop of demon was probably the worst, I was in the 3rd or 4th car. And I was just wondering how bad is the first drop of Raging bull? The rest doesnt matter if the first drop isnt that bad. So is the raging bull drop worse than the demon drop?
