Are there any rules in the park that prohibit the usage of cell phones while on rides? It seems that this would be a common sense sort of thing, you know? If you are on a ride, especially a roller coaster or something like that, get off the cell phone. Seriously, why would someone do this? I know it doesn't really effect me or most other people for that matter, but it just seems stupid. That, and something that actually does concern me, is that what if they it falls out of their hands and smacks someone else in the face, possibly hurting them. I remeber some lawsuit or something at some other SF park about someone's cell phone hitting some other rider in the face and causing some sort of severe damage. It was either a cell phone or a rock. If it was a rock, I wonder the point in answering it on a ride still.
There is a rule stating that there should be no loes articles, especially hats, glasses, cell phones, cameras or purses allowed on the ride, so I take it that there is.

Actually they say hold on to lose items such as .... So as long as you hold on to it I'm guessing its ok.
I really hope that nobody does bring cellphones on rides. I met someone who was hit by a cell phone falling off raging bull, and hit him in the back. Bringing your cell phone on a ride is foolish, why risk looking your phone and why risk hurting someone else.
The really dumb thing is, I've actually seen people talking on cell phones on the rides. I don't know if I feel that this is just dumb, cause first, I'm not going to wait for even 20 minutes for a ride, just to talk to someone during the whole thing. Second, yeah, I agree, having a cell phone, especially in your hand while talking to someone on a ride, can hurt someone if it falls.

I had one fly past my head while waiting in line for Batman. You have to remember Aero, there are people out there who's I.Q. is not much larger than their show size. By that I mean talking on the phone while on the ride.

The exact term is to "secure" all loose articles. My hand sure doesn't seem like a secure place.

Yeah, I'd have to agree about that. I've only done it once. And thats only because I was going up the Viper lift and felt something vibrating between my buttcheeks, and it was somebody elses cell phone.

Haha, Id freak out if that happened to me^^.
I agree, if you have to talk on your cell, dont do it on a ride.
The bad thing with cell phones now a days is that most of them have cameras built in them, which means a person can easily take on ride pics and videos. The phone is a loose article but its hard to catch a person with their phone to put it away since most guests take it out after the train is dispatched. Ride Ops gotta do their best to eliminate as many hazards as possible during the ride, but this problem wth cell phones will probably never stop. Best advice is to look out...

zjohn. I agree that they can't stop every moron. But...I mean...when I'm on say Raging Bull and going all fast and cool and stuff...and then...a cell phone hits me in the face...I dunno. I think if I was even looking out for it, it might have still be kind of a surprise. Just my opinion. Anyway, talk amongst yourselves. I find it funny when you blast on stupid people.
Actually, if you can grip your phone, and hold your hands up the whole ride, and its a smoothe ride, it may not be a bad idea to take pictures or videos on rollercoasters! LoL

It's stupid as all hell. What are you going to say when you drop your camera and hurt someone? It's people like you who deliberatly break park rules that give enthusiasts bad names.
My friend actually had his cell phone in a velcro pocket of his shorts. It fell out somewhere on Raging Bull. Don't automatically assume a flying sell phone is from some idiot. My friend said "Well, this is a new phone and I don't trust it in my front pocket on a ride, so I'll put it in the velcro pocket."
Not all flying objects are from idiots, but I'm willing to say that a vast majority are. I lost my Keys on superman, and they were secure and in my pocket. Some stuff happens, you can't control that.
What makes me mad is when idiots think they are above the rules and hold stuff while on a ride. I don't care how good you think you are, it's stupid and you shouldnt do it. It's like leaning out your car window while on the expressway trying to take a photo of something...Only you're not 200 feet in the air and your not over people.

I can't say much about cell phones on a ride except i've seen 2 phones at the end of Bull. What kind of moron would drop their cellphone at the END of a ride?

Yea, I think it makes no sense to have a cell phone in your hand on a ride, however, my friend has lost three phones on raging bull plus a chunk of change coming from his pocket. For some reason his pocket doesn't hold things well and its a problem, so now he has me put all of his things in my purse. One other thing, when I was on king chaos one time we all got stuck at the top and i remember that everyone took out their cellphones and started calling their friends telling them they were stuck, that was pretty funny because the ride wasn't moving anytime soon so at least the phones weren't going anywhere.

I haven't really seen cellphones either. I have seen a few people with cameras, but this really hasn't been a problem for me when I go. I guess i'm a lucky one.
