There is a web cam showing H.H. live. You have to download Weather bug first. When your done with the down load set your location to Gurnee,IL & then go to the cameras section. The second camera shows H.H. You can watch the whole day. It works much faster with a high speed connection.

Grab your swim suits? You guys are out of your minds. We have wind gusts up to 35 knots and the water will be ice cold. Besides, it's gonna freeze tonight and tomorrow when the temperatures drop and then the water will be unswimmable. Castaway Creek will become Arctic Trail, and the Wave Pool will turn into an ice rink.
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.
Hear ye, hear ye: "After 45 years, Six Flags has stopped smoking."
They always wait till the last mintue. KC and RC were open in May when the park opened. Triple Play getting out of refurbishment didn't open till July. Condor didn't open till late July or August. Hurricane Harbor wasn't completely finished when the waterpark opened for the season. Deja Vu wasn't open on opening day. It wasn't till October that year when it wasn't open. And the list continues. I think Superman was one of the rides that actually opened up early.
Apparently, it's the chain. SFOG didn't have MindBender open last year when it started. They were adding new brakes. This year they don't have Ninja or Deja Vu ready for season. Ninja is being repainted, and why wasn't it done earlier? They figure that they don't need to get it ready for the first few weeks because it's not crowded during this time. If the "new" or even old rides were open, it might just be a little more crowded.
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"
There was always water in the wave pool. It's MUCH deeper than it ever has been (most likely from all the recent March Rains). The water is probably not all that gross, just dirty.. It's too cold for much alge and bacteria to grow so you would slow down the process in which the water is turned "swampy".
They probably close off the drains and such to keep all that mud from getting into the pipe system in the first place. Plus, water in the pipes during the winter can lead to damage.
Recently they have begun construction of the Tornado. There has been no vertical construction yet, but it looks not far off. They dug up all the footers and the base, layed some new dirt, and have been doing some general work in the area.
I would check Dave's link above from time to time to check in and see how they are coming along, although the entire think might go up in a day or two (or so I've been told).
