Now it,s Itamin rides are Roaring Rapids, Giant Drop, Vertical Velocity, Sky Trek Tower, and American Eagle.
Two other prevalent companies I see in the park are Huss rides, and Zamperla. Zamperla came big contender more recently.
Huss-TP, Condor, Revolution, King Chaos, Ricochet
Zamperla-River Rocker, JWR, BEB, Chubasco, Trailblazer, RC
Part of the reason for the Haybailer not being saved in my opinion was the fact that it wasn't a great showstopper. In other words, it didn't get a lot of people on it compared to other rides. The reason was simple why. LOCATION! Anyway, we got something better for it.
However, I do think that if they moved into Southwest Territory, it would have fit the theming just perfectly, and would've got the attention it deserved. It was all about location for this ride, and it was poor in the location that it was in.
^ The problem is that it was set back quite a bit from the main midway. That combined with the fact that the ride was in a building made it very easy to miss.
I've never seen pictures of it before, i just knew what it was and where it was. Now that i have seen the pictures, i wish they would have moved it to Southwest Territory. Maggie&meSFGAm was right, that would have helped the popularity of that ride a lot.

Even if it was moved, i doubt it would be popular. The seats dont look very comfortable to ride in.

The Thunderbolt which is similiar to the Haybailer (in my opinion) always had a line at All Star Amusements especially at night. Below is a link to Flying Bobs picture. I know that it's not exactly the Haybailer, but it is exactly the same concept and design. It gets a pretty large crowd.
Also, I remember when the Big Top was were Dare Devil Dive was, and it didn't get the huge crowd that it now does. Even on the least crowded days, that ride is packed. It is very difficult to get a walk on that ride.

^Exactly. Indiana Beach also has a flying bobs ride similar to the Haybaler and that, too, had decent waits so I think that placement has a lot to do with it.

All of these are different names I have seen on that exact type of ride. The last four were actually on the same ride - it got a new marquee sign each year it came to the State Fair four years in a row, with the same old paint scheme. For the last five years or so it has only been called Music Fest.
It used to go both forward and backward, each option having a top speed.
Did Haybaler do this? Looking at the pictures, I would assume that Haybaler is one of these type of rides.
It's the most fun in the park when your laughing in the dark.
No, it only went forwards. There is one at GL, and it was exactly the same thing except with seat belt. The Haybailer didn't have any restraints except that bar that comes down.

I loved that ride! It was one of my favorites when I was younger. My first time, my cousin took me on it. Next year when we were at the park again, my cousin wasn't there, so I made my Mom go on it with me. And that is when we discovered she throws up on those kind of rides.
