I've been wondering about this for a while. I know on most rides there is a no on-ride photo policy. Does the same policy apply on Sky Trek Tower?
I was just wondering.
i'm rocking the suburbs, just like quiet riot did...
good luck trying to take pics when the glass is all covered in finger prints is one thing that they need to do is keep the glass clean every one to two hours. It can look very bad at times.
Cameras are only allowed on Great America Scenic Railroad and Sky Trek Tower. I've heard they may be allowed on Columbia, but any other rides, they definitely are not allowed.

I can kind of see them telling you to put it away on that ride. You do go pretty fast and high to be hanging on to it (or at least for those who don't go there as often as we do).
I have used a camera on Columbia Carousel before and the guy saw me and said it was O.K. so i am assuming that one is fine.
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
I dont even listen, I take the camera on anyways, or they don't care. If they yell at me, I put it in my pocket, and take it out and use it when the ride starts. They are so stupid sometimes, not to take it from me until the ride is over.
How are the ride ops stupid? They're trying to prevent the park from being sued because of idiots dropping cameras off rides.
And no, I do not take my camera on rides (except for the ones where they are allowed) anymore (want to figure out a way to get permission from the park so I can though).
You have A good point, I wouldn't see them getting sued though. Isn't it under a unwritten rule of some sort, or is a rule thats I have never seen? I aleays tie my camera on my hand so it does not fly off. I do this by strapping the string it hooked on around my hand, and BAM! Works like a charm.

That rule is a state law. You can be arrested for violation of it. Also if something does happen because of your violation of the rules, the park and you are usually sued together, as it is the parks responsibility to make sure you are not violating the rules and putting other people in danger.
ya your right, and I just remeber they say hold on to all loose articles especialy hats and glasses, I thinks cameras would go under (loose articles". I also think they should add especial hats, gallsses and cell phones. I always see people complaining about their cell phones flying off. lol.
is there a way to get permission from the park to bring your camera on rides? Like if you were to say you are from SFGAMworld.com and you are making a series of coaster videos or something? I mean there must be a way to get special permission. Does anyone know?
Whenever you see news about anything bad happening at a theme park, whether it's the parks fault or not it almost always comes with a lawsuit attached to it.
Usually the parks lose these lawsuits, which can cost millions of dollars. Let them have their rules.

I think they will only let people who are making tv shows on coasters do that becuase they have the right equitment.

Ride ops are not stupid! you are just too ignorant to listen to us.

It is not an unwritten rule. "No Cameras Permitted" is stated in every park map and evey ride enterance sign.
