I do not appreciate on-ride pictures. I have narrowly missed getting hit by two cell phones this year. Serves those people right for not following policies that are there for safety.
So is there a law at six flags that states that you can't bring camras or video recorders on rollercoasters. If there is, well then how do people film them. I was planning on bringing my video camra to six flags this year.
SFGAm top 4 Coasters

It's not a law, but it is a park policy. From the website:
"Cameras may not be permitted on thrill rides. Please check at ride entrances regarding camera policies for each ride. Cameras are not permitted on most rides."
most rides = all roller coasters + most, but not all, flats
People get onride photos/videos because they either a) don't know the policy and do it out of ignorance or b) do know the policy but go ahead and do it anyway. I personally would recommend against doing it.
I'd have to find the exact section but it goes under the category of endangering other riders/patrons. Same thing applies if you drop something off of say Giant Drop, you can be arrested for doing something stupid like that.
I should know I had several people arrested at Cedar Point for taking on ride pictures on Gemini. ( Only after we tell them in the station to put them away.)
^^Same here... I actually didn't know you weren't allowed to bring cameras on rides when I did it in the past. SFGAm should get rid of the policy so if I do get caught taking on-ride shots, I don't get in trouble.
No, the policy is there to protect other people. They don't care that you can't take on ride pictures. They care that you don't kill other people. The policy will never be removed.
^Wow..... that's a good point. If someone were to drop their camera off the top of Raging Bull, if it hit anyone, it could kill them. That's why they check your hands when you ride Giant Drop.....

My friend told me that when he was at Six Flags, when he was about to go on Giant Drop, he put a penny in his mouth. He was going to drop if from the top. But then they asked him to open his mouth. I'm not sure if he was telling the truth though.
Any rules about bringing a camera on a ride are for one reason: safety. It's the exact same thing as taking your shoes off on Giant Drop; a shoe or camera can probably kill someone from falling 200 feet in the air while going 70 mph. A penny falling from that high could go through someone's skull. It is a big issue.

Is he stupid?! What the hell was he thinking?! People that are out to hurt others, intentionally or not, should be arrested and locked up. You kill someone that way and you've got unintentional manslaughter on your record.

With a video camera and the nerve to break park policies.
Actually while there are good reasons for the rule, a falling penny wont hurt anyone (outside of putting an eye out if someone happened to look up at the exact wrong time. You can shoot a penny at someone at 300+ mph and the worst that would happen wouldnt even hurt like a rubber band hitting you at high speed, a penny doesnt have enough mass to do any damage at all, exept for the eye thing I mentioned.

That isn't entirely true, it does cause usually a nice bruise/small cut on your scalp. Ask the Power Tower crew at CP, they would know. But its not enough to do serious injury. Like you said, not enough mass.
