i like the idea of fright fest starting a week earlier, i think it's smart. Then they don't close for awhile.. those workers will bust their tails to get the decorations up and stuff though.

I wonder if that means no buyouts between the regular season and Fright Fest? Maybe they can make more money by staying open to the public. Plus, it will help with capacity. Turning guests away is not a good thing, especially when you could have been open an extra weekend to accomodate them.

2 other changes from last year:

The two weeks at the end of August and begining of September that were 11:00-7:00 last year are now 10:00-7:00 and 10:00-6:00.

Also, Great America is closed August 31st.

I sure hope not. I go to a buyout every year and it is always my best trip of the season.

They information was put on Tuesday. It appears that there will be only one buyout weekend instead of 2 between the Regular Season and Fright Fest. I believe this may be because less and less companies are buying out the park.

Also, the cost for General Admission is going up to $54.49 and parking is going to be $15.00. Also, Buses no longer get FREE parking and will have to pay $15.00 as well.

Not surprising, as soon as SFGAdv went to $59.99, I assumed SFGAm would go to $54.99. However, I think Shapiro made a huge mistake by stating that there were no immediate plans to raise prices.

http://www.dailyherald.com/news/lakestory.asp?id=147698

Here we are only a week later, and prices are up $10.00

Just out of curiosity, where did you hear this, it isn't showing up on the website :o

If more than 10 tickets are needed,
you may purchase additional tickets for $51.49(plus tax) a $3 savings off
the Main Gate General Admission ticket price.

I think you guys need to read a bit more.

This is GROUP RATES!!! Not General Admission. Please read through
the form.

The Parking Price, geez people, that's for BUSSES!!!!

Shapiro said that there were no plans to increase prices at the park.
Until it comes out on the official site and is advertised at a new rate,
it's not true.

The above paragraph is a direct quote from that link. $51.49 + $3.00 = $54.49. Face the facts, Shapiro lied.

One thing though. This could include the price for the Food Voucher!!
Take the price that they say for Main Gate, minus the food, and you
get the current price!!!

Still, it's not advertised on the site at a new rate, so it's just a rumor
until it's there!!

Other parks were VERY quick to update pricing to reflect the new
pricing. SFGAm has not!
