Six Flags Incorporated hasn't released a statement. The only news is the SEC filing containing the new board agreement.
How sure are you of this? A few guys on a message board isn't too reliable of a source. Note some of their SN's "pksendisnear" and "keiranisking" in particular. For all we know for now, this is a rumor started by unsatisfied people.
No where in there it says Sevart is moving on, it says Ron, but not Sevart, and there is no actual evidence of this move happening, if it does, 4 GMs in 4 years!

It could be that Shapiro is so unsatisfied with how some of the parks are operating that he thought that people that he would appoint would do better. I don't know much about business, so i could be wrong, but that would be my guess.
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
Though it doesn't mention it in the article, I believe SFGAm's new GM is Tom Iven, former executive VP of the western region for Six Flags. He also used to be GM @ SFStl.
I just want to point out in that article that they say that they will give refunds of the day to any person standing in line for a ride that is broken down more than 30 minutes. Is this really reasonable?? If they do this, they are going to loose a lot of money.
Many rides break down for more than 30 minutes at the park. This especially do to some of the testing. They are going to run themselves bankrupt especially with Deja Vu open.
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"
Are more sales of its parks likely? It's highly doubtful that the company would sell Great Adventure or its theme parks in Chicago or Valencia, Calif., Speigel said.

Yeah I thought the same thing when I read that. Of course I like the idea though. Certain rides in the chain such as the three Deja Vu's, X, a few Impulses, Superman: The Escape, and Kingda Ka may loose the chain a few $$.

Why do you always forecast gloom and doom for every little thing Six Flags does. If it wasnt you wetting yourself over Shapiro's Rollercoaster comments, its something else.
Now you think just because the park gives out a few coupons the whole company is going under. You need to read some economics books or something man.
After thinking about this move, it may actually be bring in more profit for the company, why? Think about it, you get someone to return to the park, which is their ultimate goal. Bringing them back, despite having to pay the admission fee, will bring in money from food, merchandise, games, and parking. Also, if only 1 or 2 members of the family get the free admission ticket, the rest of the family still has to pay the admission fee. Therefore, they can make more money off of this deal than lose money.

He is NOT our General Manager.

You sound emphatic about that. Do you know who it is?
I'm not authorized to give the name out at this time.

Okay, im sorry but the New GM of Great America is not some top secret information like the Nuclear Missle launch code or something like that.
Do you have to give out his name? no not at all. But saying that one person is NOT the new GM and the the next person ask you for more info, and then saying your not authorized is just plain dumb.
