Six Flags is looking to get either Papa John's or YUM! brands (Pizza Hut) to sponsor pizza. The sponsorship could bring in $40 million next year. It wouldn't suprise me if we'd start seeing Pepsi eventually as the new soft drink of Six Flags if they team up with YUM! brands (it probably wouldn't happen until the contract with Coca-Cola expires, though). Pepsi tends to be served in sporting venues, and we all know that Snyder wants our park to be called Six Flags Great Arena.
That's all owned by Pepsi. Also owned by YUM brands is Dunkin Doughnuts, Baskin Robins, and KFC.
And Possibly A+W and Popyes, but don't quote me on that one. It really woudln't surprise me if these restaurants all ended up in Farmers Market in the next two years. (Or SWT for Taco Bell)
Binks beat me to saying it. Pepsi owns Yumk Brands, and has major stakes in other companies. 40 million dollars is really good for how minor this sponsorship really is.
If this happens then the magic of Marriott will be GONE. Firehouse will become some commercial eye candy. Southwest Territory may have Chili's. What next, McDonalds in Yankee Harbor?
I don't like Papa John's. Firehouse has good enough pizza.
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.
Hear ye, hear ye: "After 45 years, Six Flags has stopped smoking."
You have Pizza Hut, KFC, Long John Silvers, and Taco Bell just outside the park. Don't quote me on this, but I also think that there is a Taco Bell and an A&W rootbeer place in the mall. I want a Dunkin Donuts or a 7th Eleven outside the park!!!!!

WTF?! What do those have to do with inside the park?
I agree with Binks Drake and Imeanbusiness on all of this. $40 million is a lot for just one contract, I could easily see that going up to $100 million+ annually for a Taco Bell/Pizza Hut/Pepsi deal. And Mr. D.T., what's the big deal with the Pizza Hut logo mounted underneath the Firehouse logo? (I believe that all it says is "Firehouse", correct me if I'm wrong.) There's a Panda Express and no one complained about that one.
Thats pretty cool if they know how there doing it...Lets say they keep the origianl name for a restaraunt in the park but they just say "brought to you by Mcdonalds." Like for instance the hamburger place in Farmers Market could stay the original name and still use mcdonalds products theyll just say "brought to you by Mcdonalds." I hope im not confusing...but if they dont do it then yes the Marriott theme will be going away faster than it is now...
And I hope they dont use Pepsi Coca Cola is way way way better!
No matter how hard it is...Never EVER give up. The real failure is those who dont try.
Pepsi no longer owns YUM! Brands, it was spun off a few years ago.
McDonalds is VERY prevalent in Walt Disney World. They offer cheese fries and other foods in every one of the WDW Parks, and they have full service locations at the Downtown Disney Marketplace and another near the All Star Resorts. It works great for both companies. And what kind of toys are most featured in Happy Meals? Disney toys.
A company like Six Flags would KILL to have a corporate tie-in like that. And I would not worry too much about it taking over the parks. I would think one location would be good enough. You can still have the regular pizza available other places.
And I wouldn't worry about the Firehouse being overrun with Pizza Hut stuff either. I think it could be very tastefully done.
Hopefully, we'll see more live promotions (i.e. Slim Jim, Corn Nuts) at the front gate or inside the park. They could offer a "sponor twice, sponsor once free" offer to corporations to encourage them to sponor more than once during the year. They need a sponsor at the front gates everyday in my opinion.

Good ol' Panda Express employees
Firehouse is pretty good in my opinion..I'd hate to see the pizza change, but I would like to see a nice sit down restaurant, like Crazy Buffalo used to be...Just more classy in a way, which means no employees with Blue and Turquoise shirts...
If Firehouse changes I will be dissapointed. Simply slices has a great slice of pizza. Affordable and filling. It's a regular stop on my nephew and my frequent visits to the park.
I think that its going to be a one-location spot. And who says that Simply Slices, Pizza Hut and SF Foods pizza can't live in harmony in one park? I think it can.
But I do believe that there should be one sit-down, full table service restaraunt in the park, if not two. Look for stuff like this to come further down the horizon as Six Flags begins to appeal to families again.
How many places serve pizza? Firehouse, Orleans, and Farmers, I think that's all. It'll be interesting to see if they're all sponsored by Pizza Hut/Papa John's and serving their brand pizza or if there is an actual Pizza Hut/Papa John's location inside the park, similar to Panda Express.

I can do well enough with Simply Slices. Their pizzas are a lot better than the round ones served in all the other places in the park. The only thing I complained about Panda Express is their inflated prices.
I am well aware that Animal Kingdom has a McDonald's. Aside from that, correct me if I'm wrong, but I never located a McDonald's in Magic Kingdom or MGM Studios. I think World Showcase might have one. I haven't been there in years.
IMHO, I was thinking that fast-food joints in the park make it too commercial. In the mall, it's good. I don't know.
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.
Hear ye, hear ye: "After 45 years, Six Flags has stopped smoking."
In Animal Kingdom, the only McDonald's are the fries served at a regular establishment. Unless they've changed it since last year, there isn't an actual McDonald's. I think that's the only one in all of Disney World.

The McDonalds locations in Animal Kingdom is Petri-Fries in Dinoland, and another one in Asia. Frontierland fries is in the Magic Kingdom, and the Refreshment Port at Epcots World Showcase has fries, nuggets and McFlurries. Farfax Fries is in the Disney Studios. All these locations do not offer a full menu.
As I stated in an earlier post, the two full line McDonalds restaraunts are near the All Star resorts and at the Downtown Disney Marketplace.
Six Flags over Mid America (St Louis) once had a McDonalds location inside the park.
MGM has a Mcdonald's fry stand next near the Belle show.

Getting Pepsi in the park would be a great addition.
Now getting rid of simply slices pizza in the Fire House Rest, would be awful!!
It is one of the few food products that tastes very good and isnt as overpriced as most items in the park are. And i dont think Pizza Hut/Papa Johns will give away 40 million without getting some type of exclusive rights on certain foods like Pizza.
In wdw they have certain venues that sell a few McDonalds items like french fries in the parks but no full service McDonalds rest in any of the parks.
And sadly, other than Mooseburger Lodge- McDonalds would be a step up in food quality at SFGAM.
