The "Snyder Effect" is slowly beginning to take hold.
I was reading a topic on Coasterbuzz: http://www.coasterbuzz.com/forum.aspx?m ... icID=43841 when I noticed someone mentioning SFGAdv's one-day ticket price jumping from $48.99 to $59.99. I checked SFGAdv's official website and sure enough, $59.99. That is insane. It is only a matter of time before the price hikes reach SFGAm. Hopefully we won't get slammed nearly as bad as SFGAdv did.
Either way, I am so glad I already have my 2006 Season Pass and my parking pass voucher.
Disney world charges $63.00 for a 1-day ticket. Hopefully, our's will change to a ticket system based on ages rather than height. I can only imagine the devastation for the family that goes once a year, buys the "adult" ticket for 53.5" Johnny that ends up not being able to ride any of the big coasters. I'm sure GR would clear it all up, but it's still not very fair. Who's to say that Grandma, who is over 54", is going to be going on the same rides as a teenager? Just base it on age, not rides. Not everyone there goes on all the rides like we do.
^ Grandma already gets a discount, Senior citizen discount is like 29.99 per person.
What everyone is failing to realize, is that the two parks in which the gate admission went up at, SFOT and SFGadv, both received enormous expansion this offseason.
SFOT alone received 10 new attractions. Of course the gate price will go up. The old if you build it they will come attitude.
SFGadv the same thing, a brand new rollercoaster and children's section, of course the gate price should go up.
If it didnt, how is SF going to pay for all thats associated with the new attractions?
The ink isnt even dry on the Snyder deal, and already people are complain and moaning about something that doesnt even effect our home park. Yet, ill say 90% of the people on this board are season pass/parking holders anyway.

What Snyder was asking for was a vote of the other shareholders on whether the current board should be replaced. Snyder won the and his board and officers took control by virtue of that vote. Shapiro is one of his guys.
Many of the previous officers of Six Flags are in the process of leaving the company with very generous severance packages.

Oooh, forgot about that one! Hopefully, everyone still gets what I'm saying. Everyone goes to the park for different reasons, some to ride, some to see shows, some just to sit down and read a book next to the pool, so why base a large portion of your admission system on which rides everyone can and can't ride?
EDIT: I also wish they'd vary the height requirements for each ride just a little bit. The height restrictions of under 54" for kiddie rides is never followed and I find it hard to believe that many coasters really do have a minimum height requirement of 54" for safety reasons alone (again, all goes back to pricing at the gate: don't let them ride if they didn't pay the full price). Also, the under 42" must be accompanied by an adult is kind of pointless. Why not say minimum height of 36" or whatever, and under 7 must be accompanied by an adult? Disney does it this way on several rides, and it makes a lot more sense. Granted, there are some exceptions. For example, on Hometown Fun Machine, the height with an adult was raised from 42" or 48" recently, most likely because operators couldn't see the faces of smaller kids that were hidden behind the safety gate.

However, Shapiro is CEO not snyder, they're not one in the same. Sure, Snyder brought shapiro in, but It's not Snyder's Way or the highway, Snyder is one member on a board of 10, he doesn't actually have that big a say. They may have different Ideas. So far I like what Shapiro's been doing. So I don't understand why everyone's like Snyder Bad he'll kill the parks, he'll rename everything Snyder-this and Snyder-that. He won't because he can't. Snyder doesn't have some kind of control over Shapiro. I don't understand why everyone is so uptight about this, tell me the bad about what shapiro has done or plans to do.

They are uneducated, that's why.
Anyways, leaving Snyder out of the picture altogether, it still amazes me how some people don't understand the basic setup of the company. They picture it to be that one separate individual owns a different park (i.e. Mr. Severt would own Great America) and could do whatever he/she wanted with it. They can buy rides from other parks, etc. They also picture it to be a franschise system like McDonald's (which goes back to the individual owners for individual stores or in this case parks), which is not true either.
that's just messed up. No re-entry at their park? I don't understand how you can't let someone who has wet swimwear possibly bring their stuff out to their car. If this re-entry thing happened at SFGAm, it would also screw over guests who bring lunches and eat out in the parking lot instead of buying park food. Doing that would make a lot of people pretty angry, and once again, SFGAm would lose.
SFGAm Shock Wave wrote:That is going to really screw things up if it happens at SFGAm. If you go to Hurricane Harbor, and then stay at GAm past 7, you get forced into renting 2 lockers.
I would say this is a reason its not a SFGAm, but SF America has a water park.
I believe that is in response to local terrorism concerns given the parks location. When I was doing research for my college paper back in '02, I has come across a list of reccomended policies for fairs / theme parks / resorts. The thought is that it puts less of a strain on security screening bags and packages, and that they will examine each bag / package more closely and with more time to do so.
If I can find the original list, I'll try to post it. It's either a real threat, or an elaborate excuse to screw with patrons.

SNYDER HAS NOTHING TO EFFING DO WITH IT!!!!!!!!!!
But it is a stupid policy that will really piss me off. And it's about buying food in the parks more then anything else. They're going to lose with this one. It'll be back in a short while.
I emailed the author with the link to SFA's policy since it isn't in the article.
I have not seen this change at any other Six Flags Park website, hopefully someone in Six Flags PR will pick up on this, and let us know what the deal is.

With all the talk of Snyder, people are again jumping to outragous conclussions.
People really need to start using thier heads, seriously think about these things:
As stated in the article above, Why would Six Flags whose been dogged by poor customer service complants for years, all of a sudden adopt a new policy that goes against what Synder and his group hope to instill in the Six Flags Parks?
Dont use the comparison between how Snyder runs the Redskins staduim and how Six Flags might be run, because consider this:
US Cellular Field, United Center, Wrigley Field and All-state arena all have the same policy, once you leave you cant come back.
So should we now start crying foul because these venues (which have done this practice for years i might add) do the same things?
People, my gut feeling is that Six Flags will be the same in 2006 just as it was in 2005, and maybe just maybe a little better
Check the link to SFA again. Apparently they have reversed the policy as of today and re-entry is allowed.
I renewed my SFSTL pass today and customer service if this policy was coming to that park. After 3 minutes on hold the only reply was that "As of right now there is still re-entry, but we have not recieved all of our updates of 2006"
