Really old topic so I won't hold you accountable.

They were taken down in part because people would grab them as the train went by.

Not touching this with a 10 foot pole (no pun intended), but maybe I can convince Brian Plencner(pun intended) to break the news here.

edit:

Actually ARNR archived thier take on it (though it really isnt much of an exaggeration how they describe it)

If I had unlimited $$$ and do anything to Demon, I'd fully enlose where the first tunnel is now, the lift, and first turn in a rock structure, so as you pull out of the station, you'd pull into a cavern, go up the lift and first turn in complete darkness, then shoot out of the structure right into the first drop and vertical loop. The station would also be completely enclosed, like Batman's, with the cave protruding into the front end of the building. I'd make the water effects red again and bring back the Demon song :).

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

Those hills look like they must have produced alot of airtime because they look pretty short. Is there anybody on this site that has been on it before they got rid of the hills.

If those hills are anything like the first drop, I would assume that they produced massive air. I kind of wish they kept those hills, I would have liked to ride the ride before and after.
