I honestly think that the flumes will be gone (yes both) whizzer will be removed because of maintenance issues and it would be replaced with a BM floorless that is not a clone and is actually themed, and American Eagle and iron wolf would be replaced with a rocket coaster..with the station being where iron wolf "was" the top hat being where the helix "was" right by the highway..that would be so awesome..."tight" as gangsta fruit said lol
i know that sfgam basicly revolves around entertaining children and families but it would stink majorly if they torn down coasters to put up kiddie rides i hope that never happens speaking of kiidieland i know this is wrong to bring this up in this form but does anyone a rct2 recreation of kiidieland
Former Six Flags Ride Operator - 2008-2011. "The Whizzer Guy." Also Worked at Demon, Batman, Viper, Raging Bull, Carousel, Big Easy Balloons, King Chaos, Orbit, Wiggles, Hometown Fun Machine, Triple Play, Log Flumes. I make and edit amusement park videos under the name Techie Dave Productions
Simply, 1 coaster added, if lucky 2, maybe a loss of one, and a whole new face in Yankee Harbor, Hurricane Harbor expansion, but not much change that close to the future, 4 years in amusement parks is not long
Universal Orlando Mechanical Engineer Marathon down, Goofy to go.
I think 2 coasters added. A whole new section to go with one of the coasters. A few more water rides at HH. Whizzer, Eagle and possibly Wolf gone. One of those coasters may also be a new kind of species.
In 2010 or some time beyond that, we will have most of our classic coasters and flat rides taken down for a new breed of coaster which is the flying coaster. It doesn't run on wheels; a laser and memory card pinpoints the track. We will also have a new flat ride which uses the same state-of-the-art-technology in which riders can customize their ride, maybe programming it to a whopping 7 Gs or 0.1Gs for the chickens. The new coasters will put Kingda Ka to shame because one will have trrack customization; you can choose your speed or height.

Hear ye, hear ye: "After 45 years, Six Flags has stopped smoking."

.
yea whatever...i think my idea is the most realistic so far...
I think mine is the most accurate, with the exception that MAYBE, just maybe another coaster might be added, but it wont be anything bigger than anything we have now.
I'm running to Bull on opening day, anyone gets in my way and they'll get trampled.
With the new members on the Six Flags corporate board saying that they want to make Six Flags Parks more attractive to families and not just a place for teenagers I'd say there will be an overall slowdown in the building of bigger coasters and thrill thrides in the immediate future.
They seem to be in the mindset that family rides will pack the parks and that's what they've been making noise about in the media.
I personally think it's the wrong approach to take. Trying to compete head-to head with Disney type attractions is a bad idea in my book.
SFGAm could use a couple more family friendly rides but they can't forget that future families come from today's teens (when they get older I mean.)
The Busch parks saw a spike in attendance this year and most of the new attractions that those parks put in were thrill rides, not necessarily family rides.
I don't really know how to judge the 2005 SF season. Amusement Business reports that as a chain SF saw a 5.7% increase in attendance in 2005. Without seeing the individual park numbers and correlating them to new attractions, such as Hurricane harbor, it's hard to know where the gains were for sure.
Upon further review I found some more data on SFGAm attendance for 2005. According to Amusement Business SFGAm had a staggering 24% increase in attendance this year. Wow!

It has been said in the past that the popularity of thrill rides and rollercoasters has been decreasing over the years. So rollercoasters and major thrill rides will not attract as many people to a park anymore. And they mostly attract teens.
Teens do not have a lot of cash. they go on the major rides, hang out , spend a minimal amount of allowance cash their parents give them then go home. Families on the other hand, can spend alot of money. parents want ot make their kids happy. they want to go to a place where their kids can ride alot of the rides. then when families go and stay, kids need to eat they do not usually go outside the park to eat becuase it is a hassle unlike teens who will more likley to go outside the park to eat to save money. so families eat inside the park and kids love to play games so they will mostl likley play more games then teens About say 5 years ago families would refuse to go to SFGAM because you spend mega bucks to go into a park that hardly has any major rides kids can go on. there were just 2 little kiddie sections, whizzer, some flats, games and that is it. I some families but not many and alot of teens. after they put in Mardi Gras and the waterpark there are alot more families and they stay late now instead of going home before the sun sets.
So, there needs to be a good mixture of kid friendly rides that adults can go on and enjoy too. there should be kid only rides, and rides that teens and young adults can enjoy too. there just needs to be a good mixture. there would be a drop in attendance I would think if they made the park into a kids only park, but it would also be bad if they had only rollercoasters and thrill rides
Same as always except maybe with 1 or 3 new rides or coasters, some new stores food places, repainted rides, some rides removed, new themed area and charging $50, $60 or more a ticket just to get in the park but including free parking i hope I doubt that, a couple of minor accidents happenning and be all over the news again.
SF appeals to all ages and types of people I think they dont need to compete with Disney or other parks since SF already have the best rides and attractions that appeal to all ages. Everytime they have a new attraction they could be record breakers or fun for any age or types of people like HH and SUF or Raging Bull and they dont charge $60 a ticket just to get in their park. So SixFlags is for everyone if people dont want to go their parks its up to them not SF. Six Flags just comes up with the attractions.
I agree that there needs to be a good mixture of rides, but most likely there wont be. Six flags inc will lean towards kids, and thrill rides and big rollercoasters will be a thing of the past. I would at least like to see a ride that is enjoyable by all, like a all-dark ride, or something amuseing to guests of all ages. If SFGAM does become mostly family oriented I hope that they at least give us 1 more big rollercoaster within a few years. We have to wait and see.

Thats true a dark ride or an indoor family coaster is needed in SixFlags Great America especially when you cant find a ride at Six Flags Great America to go in when its raining, thunderstorm or really bad weather. Yes 1 or more really big coaster too would be really nice. Will have to wait and see what SF do to Great America by the year 2010.
When you mention people going inside when its raining or really hot, an indoor ride would be great. That stargate ride is crap in my opinion and we need something new and thrilling.
I think that one of the flumes will be replaced by a coaster, however, i see no other coasters or big things in store for the future. Hurricane Harbor will obviously look A LOT bigger and different and possible a large flat ride in the place of Splashwater Falls. Who knows.
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
