Hi, i new here and i will be going to frightfest this october. I was wondering how scary is it? i am 14 years old and i guess you could say i get scared pretty easy. And i am planning on going into the haunted house, how scary is that? i want to know to see if i should go or not because i do get scared pretty good.

To me, it is more funny than scary. I laughed at Jason and Freddy a couple of years ago. Speaking of Fright Fest, one of my favorite skeletons guy is up (He carries a lantern).
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"

The only slightly scary part is when characters jump out from behind stores and bushes. Other than that, its just regular old Great America all decked out for Halloween. :)
Finally Coaster Season!!

If you stay out of Necropolis the worst thing that can happen to you is being followed by a man/woman in a costume.

Well if your get scared easy then it might be pretty scary, I mean I do see people running scared from the people year after year so it must scare some people. I almost wish I did get scared easy, not being scared takes alot of the fun out of it.

It's not that scary, but be prepared to hear plenty of girls shrieking. Some of them are actually scared, most do it for the attention.

I don't go to Fright Fest to get scared. It's more for the atmosphere, when you first walk into the park with the bloody red reflection pool and lit torches whilst the Halloween theme blasts through the speakers is definitely a great moment. Oh, and there's also a little show called Love at First Fright that some members on here seem to love. :D

Necropolis is definitely an area not to be missed as well... I probably laugh more than anything at Fright Fest, because when the lights go down, it's the most fun I have at the park all season.

I don't find it scary, but It's plenty startling. I would say Necro is scary. AND DON'T MISS LAFF! It rocks! And also Haunted house scary levels depend on the house. SH, or MoT?

I hate to say it, but Timmy is right.

Fear is only in your head, therefore the event can only be as scary as you want it or allow it to be. Thats how a good monster works - he gets in your head to create a good scare.
It's the most fun in the park when your laughing in the dark.

Agreed.

SfHH? Why did you :? my post?? Im sorry but i just said that its as scary as you make it.

If you dont realize that there are people inside those bushes..... then your gonna be scared.

If you dont realize that the people following you are just in makeup... youll be scared..

If you dont figure out that your not actually being sprayed by urine in the portopotty, your going to be scared.

The only scary thing about Fright Fest is the name "Fright Fest" itself.

Meh. It scares me fine. But it also depends on what you're scared of. I have no problems with the Necro-Zombies, or hte Buffy Vamps, or the Cowboys, But I hate the clowns, they scare the BeJesus out of me, and I'm guessing the new aliens will get me too. (I have alien issues)

They were in Mardi GRas Last Year, and they will be there this year as well. GRRR. The clowns scare me.

Without the new Area 51 developement I was almost upset with Character spaceing this year. It was all on the left side of the park with three "Rodeo Clowns" in SWT. But now with Area 51, The Clowns, and The SDMS, It guess it all works out. But I think It would be better to move the Clowns back to CF, in order have it like, OP, Necro/Pirate Bride, Revy, Sleepy Hollow, HTS. But I'm not complaining.

I had a hilarious experience ar frightfest. I was standing around with my friend by king chaos when those guys dressed as clowns with swords were scaring this guy. He was screaming and crying and yelling at them to leave him alone, but the more he yelled the more he was followed. He then got in a fetile position and was crying . Then I came back later that evening to that same area and those clown guys were scaring a girl with their swords. She was crazy! Screaming and crying, then the clown guys would taunt her and scrape their swords on the floor making a circle around her. That was the most fun I had ever had.
I'm running to Bull on opening day, anyone gets in my way and they'll get trampled.

That's the machetti clown... he gets me every year.

Last year my nephew was walking with me filming w/ my video camera around us and my nephew yelled out to him "Hey my aunt is scared to death of you" so guess what he does.... starts running towards me so I start running the other way. The video is hilarious because you can hear my nephew cracking up as the clown was chasing me. He got me the year before also.
