For those who went, how was it?

What rides were open?

And how did the landscaping, rides, shops, restaurants and theming look?

Didnt ANYBODY go to media day? Somebody out theres gotta have some photos. I saw a long segment about the waterpark on nbc5, and it had a reporter floating down the lazy river getting nailed by water jets. They showed a wide view of the park from the wave pool, and the theming and palm trees look really nice. I want to see more though.

BTW, I live in Gurnee. The only noticable differences from the last few days that I can see is that they are completely done with the shade covering on top of hurricane mountain.

The racing slides and the family slide was not open neither was skull island. The landscaping looked great and the palms made it fitting. Very busy with lots of people.

I didn't think that they would be. Hopefully Wahoo Racers will be open by Sunday.

There are about 4 video clips at http://cbs2chicago.com/video_mornings/ . WGN's Paul Konrad, who seemed to not want to be there, had a few interviews with Ron Sevart about HH and its capacity. FOX-32 seemed to be the only station to give away Season Passes to viewers.

did they say why they were closed? was it because of technical difficulties or is it because they still had to do cleanup?

The skull Island was still being worked on as for the other two rides, the water was running on the Wahoo Racers but it was in the back corner so im not sure if it was because skull island was in the way and under construction still or what. As for the family slide in the middle, I didnt see a whole lot going on there and no one could tell us if it was going to open or not.

Thanks for the pics.

How did the entrance look? Was it completed?

They had the sign up to the entrance by Viper but it was still closed off. It was progressing nicely though.

Those photos made me really excited. The landscaping and the theming around the restaurants looks awesome.

I was searching for photos, but I only come across videos. The site, http://www.prnewswire.com/broadcast/213 ... umer.shtml , has some more footage and soundbites from Michele Hofman and Ron Sevart.

Added note: I found some pics at a radio station site, 102.3 FM
