I was watching my local news today and they had people, and school kids on the rides and the wave pool.
Top Thrill Dragster- One of the tallest and fastest roller coasters
it's media day today.

No, people got invited to HH for media day. You can only get in if you were invited.

Media day is where Six Flags shows off it's new attraction (in this case-waterpark). The idea is to get a lot of publicity (free
) out there and draw attention.
Most of the people you saw were members of the press, webmasters (Coasterdude316 was there), and a select few invited guests (People who did promotions, etc.). The waterpark will be open Satuday for the general public.
