I know I'm a grown-up who likes roller coasters and modern-day Great America. But I miss the old Bugs Bunny Land back when they had the old-fashioned metal slides, the kiddie play area, and the gigantic 'boxing bags'. The soundtrack back then was much different, custom-made by Marriott along with the rest of the soundtracks. Some of the old flat rides are still there, and I know one of them moved to Camp Cartoon Network. I'm starting a discussion on childhood memories and to better know the difference between Bugs Bunny Land and Looney Tunes National Park. What are your opinions?
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.

I enjoyed Bugs Bunny Land in its day, too. I remember the rope/climb area and the punching bags you're talking about. I think the rope/climb area led to Elmer Fudd's FunHouse, or something of that nature. I used to liked the Bumble Bee ride, too. And, if I remember correctly, I think Bugs Bunny Land had sit-down scooters that I enjoyed, too.
Rarely do I now go inside Looney Toons National Park, but I do remember Bugs Bunny Land. I used to always do the rope thing, back when they didn't have all the slides and stuff. Actually, I didn't even realize that they changed the name right away, I thought it was just a lot of retheming.
If we're talking about memories, I have to say that my favorite ride was Rolling Thunder. Too bad it's gone, I really miss it. Oh well, at least we have SWT (which is obviously much better).
It's neat they're adding more slides to Pepe Le Pew's (yuck!) Net Climb. But that isn't enough to bring it back to Bugs Bunny Land standards. I don't recall the upside-down houses, but I suppose the Looney Lodge is now in it's place. I don't know if they either tore it down and rebuilt it or just remodeled the whole building.
The whole play area had enough room to fit both the old Hometown Park rides too.

I definately remember the upside down houses. Almost the whole area was redone. They had the houses all around and the sway bridges linked most of them together if I remember right. Also, next to the punching bags, I remember little tunnels that little kids could crawl thru.
I remember them too.. we actually have video footage from when I was like 4 or 5 playing around in Bugs Bunny Land. I was so mad when I got too big for the upside down houses!!!
