This is my first year that I bought a season pass, and i was just wondering if the person who's credit card was used (my dad) would have to be there to allow you to get a picture. If not, I will hopefully be there on April 30th. Also, I heard it is packed on opening day. Does anyone think that the Kiss FM thing the night before will change that? Sorry if there is something about this already.
I don't think you need the person who used the credit card. Last year I believe I went in alone and they didn't ask for a credit card or anything. I got my picture taken and got my season pass and I was free to go. Also, it really depends on the weather if it's packed on opening day or not. It's uaually not too bad, sometimes it's decently crowded, the waits aren't bad when it is.
When you buy the season pass, you are really buying a big bright yellow $73.00 ticket into the park that has something like "Season Pass Voucher" printed on the front. You use this to get in the first time. If you buy it at the park, you get it from guest relations to the right of the metal detectors. If you buy it online, over the phone, or at Jewel, they'll hand you one right then. After you get in, head straight to the pass processing center in Hometown Square. You use this to prove that you've paid for a season pass. If you lose it, there's no other way to get one and you have to buy another one. After you show them the ticket, they'll take your picture and print you an actual season pass. You do not need to handle any cash once you're in the park, except to buy a parking sticker if you need one.
Yeah, I'd bring one. My friend used one once, but they never checked for his I.D. If you get there and realize that you forgot it, it's not the biggest deal in the world. Just try to get in without it first. The reason is because it will print your name on the ticket, and they want to check that against a photo I.D.
Someone mentioned running right to the SP Processing center when the park opens. If I remember right from last season the processing center didn't open until noon for the first couple weeks the park was open.
It's supposed to rain on saturday and sunday according to weather.com. That site has been off before, for SFGAM, especially for a week in advance. I think that it'll rain though, but they'll keep the rides open. Last year's opening day was empty and it was 50 degrees and windy. I think rain scares people away more than wind, so I personally don't think that it'll be crowded.
If you have already bought the season pass, it is like a normal ticket, only it says season pass and you have to fill out the information on the back. Fill out that information and when you get their they'll keep your stub, but you get to keep the part with the information on it. You don't have to get it processed right away. I would suggest that you ride your first few rides and then get it processed later.
quick question, you are supposed to pick up the cupon book at the prosessing center right? and you can use your parking ticket to buy a parking pass too?
You'll get a coupon book when you process your pass or if you renewed a previous pass online they sent a coupon with your new SP to get the book.
If you take your parking ticket to the processing center they will credit it toward your season parking sticker, at least they have done that in past years.
Thanks for the help. I have another question though. I know it's kind of a rip off to go on the 29th, but I can't make it on the rest of the weekend. So I kind of have to go. Anyways, I was wondering if the season pass will be able to be processed on the 29th. Will there be anyone to process them there? Does anyone know yet?

Thanks. OK.... this is my last question. Does anyone know how likely of a chance that Vu will be open on Friday? I know people might kinda get mad at this but.... I kinda gotta know.

Seems like the season pass coupon books deal is weird....I processed my renewal online late last year. When the pass came there wasn't a coupon or anything for the coupon book.
About a month ago I received a letter from SF saying that there was a problem with some of the pass mailings and the coupon to receive the season pass coupon book had been left out. Enclosed with that letter was a coupon to take to the SP processing center to get the coupon book.
Today, as others have said, a coupon book came in the mail.
