HH or New Area or Renovate?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

We all know that SFGAm is getting a waterpark with 25 attractions. If you had you made the choice, would you rather add an area such as Mardi Gras (5 rides), or a waterpark such as SFGAm is getting, or renovate some things that should be changed (painting, replacing a ride, fixing lines, etc)?

For me, I would have gone with the third one (renovate). I think Stargate should be changed to a ride such as Space Mountain. That rollercoaster isn't the fastest, tallest etc., but it is really good. I think that the Hometown Fun Machine should be moved (bad location) to across from the Orbit. That's all I have for now.

I would also renovate, I would get rid of Stargate and the go carts. I would put a nice coaster like Zonga (love the paint job) I think that type of ride would make the park more complete. It would also open a path to southwest territory from that area.

...and throw a few fastlane pass shops up.

I would add a waterpark. Waterpark/new attractions = $$$ for me. You arnt going to get new people to come to the park if you advertise "Come see our newly painted fence, and freshly paved walkways!"

Anyway, the waterpark is great. I know it'll attract people a lot. Lines in July may just be as good as lines in May.

I would chose the waterpark for the reasons that Aero 737 stated. Also, we didnt really need a coaster, we got 4 coasters in 4 years, I think that is good enough.

Thriller/Zonga is this close =><= to becoming scrap metal, basically cause SF doesnt know how to maintain it.

That ride is like Michael Jacksons nose, the more SF screws with it, the worse it gets.

What they did to Thriller is an unforgivable sin.

You can advertise a new rollercoaster in Stargate's place. Line changes with IW, Viper, and D Vu' would be helpful. Hometown Fun Machine is in a bad location. It's in the corner. I think Trailblazer should be replaced with something else, and that building should be taken down around it. People need to see the complete ride like Ricochet, and River Rocker.

Relating to Hometown Fun Machine, Haybailer didn't have a long line because of this, and it is gone. Yes, D Vu' is there now, but if it was popular (Haybailer) they probably would've moved it somewhere else.

I'm not just talking about only paint. That's what they are doing now with D Vu'. They did the walkway in Carousel Plaza and Mardi Gras last year.

HTFM is falling apart and won't be moved, unless it's being moved to the boiler.

I would add the water park and renovate, I would add single rider lines for rides that tend to get longer lines (RB, S:UF, RC ect...)
2005: Whizzer: 66, Viper: 123, Vu: 75, RB: 73, IW: 18, BTR: 33, AER: 32, AEB 17, RC: 4, SUF: 14, V2: 11, Demon: 47, Visits: 39

I like that they're adding HH, it'll bring in money and maybe next year or the year after they can use some of that money to build new rides or coasters. It'll bring in more people, but it will also keep some areas of the park emty. On some of the less crowded days I think that it'll make the less popular areas even less crowded, allowing for walk ons.

It's not like the waterpark doesn't cost money. It costs a piece of change. On top of that, you as a company need to hire a lot more people who cost more money.

Even if our park gets no money from this waterpark (probably not going to happen) SFGAm is blessed with getting things new. SFI likes us a lot!!

May is the time that is killing the park. The park was quite empty during this time. In order to get greater attendance, it's all about the advertising. Mr. Six is not going to do much for the park. I want to see "our" rides in the commercial along with new rides at "our" park with the announcer saying the names and showing them.

I again believe this is one of the subtle stupidest decision that SFI has made and continues to make. I have MAPS of SFGAm, SFOG, SFStL, SFAW, and SFEG. The problem is that none of them have hours of the park's operation on them. Yes, I know the hours are on the flimsey brochures, but if I wanted to go to the park tommorrow and I have a SFGAm park map, why would I want to look at the brochure.

These flimsey brochures don't really give me a sense of what the park really has to offer either. They need more pictures of rides and better pictures. For this years flimsey brochure, they have just the train for RB, SUF, BTR, and RC. They need wider pictures of these rollercoasters. What do these rides do? Others are the picture of the Merry-go-Round and the waterpark stuff. By the way, they still have BTR as black. That picture is the same one as in the 2002 brochure.

The water park isnt a bad idea, I think it would of been better as an indoor with a hotel resort.. It would be great to have somewhere to go in the off season and have it warm.
