I don't think this was posted already, but just so you guys know there will be a few CAD events this season. I don't know when though. I picked up a savings ad in Jewel Osco and inside on the first page it has stuff about season passes. It states that there are exclusive Coasters After Dark events.
Thought you all might want to know. I'm excited to hear that they're having this event again.
I will probably only go if a)they have discounts on merchandise (that I might want), or b) they include it to all rides (which is 99% not going to happen). It would cost them too much money.
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"
it was 3 wednesday's of the year. certain Stores & Food Place's gave discounts with your season pass once Coaster's After Dark started!!!!
Also, Most of the Main Rollercoasters are included. Usually excluding De Ja Vue and Rajin Cajin. well the last one i went to. those were the only 2 ROLLERCOASTERS not running and most non rollercoasters were not running.(Quote if im wrong about what rides were running the LAST CAD cause i dont remember that well) lol because it is called COASTERS after dark not RIDES after dark
Deja Vu just had some problems last year during two or three of the CAD events, it wasn't necessarily excluded. Nor was Ragin' Cajun, I don't remember it not operating during the events. And yes most of the flats were closed besides some of the major ones such as Giant Drop, Revolution, and King Chaos.
Yeah they were decently crowded. The waits were probably around 20-30 minutes, I can't quite remember. The longest wait I waited was 45 minutes for Deja Vu and I didn't even get to ride it because it broke down and closed for the night.
I imagine that the park doesn't keep many mechanics at the park (compared to during the day) because they get higher pay. So, the park might be afraid to open D Vu' and RC during these events. Every rollercoaster can breakdown, but these two have higher probability than the others.

i now remember Rajin Cajin open during the EVENT. I remember the FIRST Coaster's After Dark, the lines were LONGER then they were all day. i was so upset. because people would COME JUST FOR COASTER's AFTER DARK. and get there at like 7 at night
On coaster after dark night they should cut off ENTRY at like 8. but RE-ENTRY until its normal time which is 30 min before the park closes. that way they can atleast get the guest to come earlier, in hopes that they spend more money
Hah I remember what your talking about techop about the first CAD event. That kinda sucked but any coaster at GAm is better at night than during the day. I don't care if I have to wait just so I get to ride them.
Top 5 wood-5-Goliath 4-Ravine Flyer II 3-Phoenix 2-Voyage 1-El Toro Top 5 Steel- 5-Velocicoaster 4- Maverick 3- Fury 325 2-Steel Vengeance 1-X2 Coaster Count: 444
I only got to the last CAD event, and I had fun. I was exhausted at the end, but it was fun. Didn't get to ride DejaVu, i waited thirty minutes, and it was broken down for the night. I hope to get up to a CAD event this year.
I only went to one of the CADs, the 1st one. All we got to ride was Ragin' Cajun (My first ride!) and Batman twice. The lines were really long. It sort of sucked.
I went to the 1st two CAD events and it was OK. I love riding coasters when it is dark though! It was MUCH busier then I thought. Silly me to think that only a few had season passes... duh Robin! I will probably go to 2 or 3 this year as well. It's an extra perk so why not take advantage
HERE IS WHAT I THINK. I think now a days, season passes are LOWER in value becuase NOW everyone is buying one. THEY SHOULD REALLY LIMIT how many are sold. that will raise the value of the season pass. or sell a PLATINUM PASS that has more value
Like maybe only sell 100 Platinum Pass's a year, and they could include Unlimited FAST LANE USAGE, Maybe 5% discount in places or something
Its just a stupid idea i thought of. dont think it would work. but who knows
If they sold silver, gold, and platinum passes like Busch Gardens does then they could make alot more money. Busch Gardens has a deal that if you have a platinum pass, you can just flash it and get to stay in your seat for a second ride. If six flags got this I would definatly pay extra for it. I went to the first coasters after dark. And for the second one I went to the park until the coasters after dark event started.
Since this thread is off on a bit of a tangent...I think Six Flags has priced the season passes too low. They're basically "giving away the gate" in hopes that people spend lots on food and games, etc. while in the park.
I would agree that they need to place limits on how many passes they sell also and I would support a tiered type pass system where you could pay for an upgrade to a platinum pass.
Six Flags Magic Mountain has taken this to the extreme. If you buy a regular days admission at $47.99 you just take your ticket stub to their pass center and for NO additional fee they turn it into a Play Pass (season pass.) they've also come out with a VIP Membership. The details are:
Or, choose the Six Flags VIP Premium Package –
The Xtreme Play Pass for $125 with additional first-ever exclusive benefits:
All the benefits of Play Pass … PLUS …
FREE Fast Lane “front of the line” privileges on four rides each visit (subject to standard restrictions)
FREE parking every visit
25% off at Flags and the
Looney Tunes Super Store
20% off all other Six Flags Magic Mountain merchandise purchases
20% off all Six Flags Magic Mountain food purchases (except carts)
Note: a limited number of Xtreme Play Passes are available -- get yours today before they sell out!
Not sure if that would work here or not. They are in a more competitive market with Disney, Knotts, and a million other things to do.
Finally, I would agree with what others have said. Coasters After Dark actually seemed more crowded than during the day. It really wasn't though, it's just that everyone there is concentrated onto a smaller number of rides.

The passes for our park are already $80 and $90. You want season passes higher at our park? The waterpark is the reason why. SFOG has there season passes at about $50, while SFKK, and SFStL are even cheaper. If coasters after dark is making the price of season passes go up higher, I rather not have it.
Edit: I thought you were talking about SFGAm.
Anyway, I think that SFMM is making a mistake. Is it really that people aren't coming to the park, and if so, why? I continously hear bad things about the park. They obviously can't handle 15 coasters.
For the second pass, a person is paying $55 more for fastpasses, 20% merchandise, and parking. From this, it really would apply to one person in a group. Let's say that you, and two friends go to SFMM. One of you has bought this $125 pass while the others have the $47 ones. For the $125 one, I can use it as parking, and buy my two friends merchandise (food, and clothes, cups). The only thing for just me to use on myself would be the fastlanes. So, would it be worth it for three people in the same party to buy these $125 passes?
I also don't see why they should have a limited number of them. $125 is quite enough money for me to start turning people away.

SFMM fast lane passes are really only good for water rides. Most of the coasters they are good for dont have too much of a line in the afternoon, at least they didnt the last few times I have been there. While the water rides had 2+ hr waits, Screem, Goliath, Psyclone, Revolution, Viper, & Colossus were little to no wait. The rides that needed it (ie: X, Vu, Batman, & Riddlers) didnt accept them.
