Received the 2005 SFGam Brochure

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Eagle04 on March 31st, 2005, 10:00 pm
Bit of a lurker here but thought I'd share the stuff I noticed in the new brochure.

The only path to Hurricane Harbor seems to be by Viper and along the Railway. The Go-Carts seem to block access from the front of the park but that could just be the map.

All the map says for the Southwest Amphitheatre- Home to our Concerts, Festivals and Special Events. No mention of any show.

I don't have a detonator; its on a timer.
A countdown timer?
No, a count-up timer. It goes from one to explode.

sorry I don't have a scanner.
Call the park and ask for one and they'll mail it to you. Otherwise the park site should have the map up soon.

I wonder why they are not using the SWT Ampitheater for a show. Any have an idea why they aren't?

Well, it could just be because they don't have the show confirmed yet. The early brochures from last year still said "Space Shuttle America," though SG-3000 opened with the park. It was fixed by June, in later print runs.

Do you have a digital camera? If so, you could take a picture of it and post it somewhere.

I'd like to see the Great Russian Circus or Warner Bros. Stunt Show in there again.

^The circus (I don't know if it's Russian though) is going to be in the Grand Music Hall. For the Southwest Territory Ampitheater, you kind of wonder why they even built it in the first place. The main purpose was to put things of big proportion (such as the Batman stunt show) in the arena.

Considering that the circus can go in the Grand Music Hall, why should the Southwest Territory Ampitheater be of use? In other words, if SFGAm would've planned ahead (and kept big things in this SWA all along), then isn't it stupid to keep this big arena for the simple fact that the Wilderness could accomodate these things.

SFOG, and SFKK have big theaters that aren't used now. It's poor planning, and these outside theaters cost a lot of money.

They could have a western stunt show, and I wish they would. I dont know why they ever ended that show in the first place.

Things are getting WAY off of proportion! I'd say they should put the circus in the amphitheatre or Wilderness Theatre and leave the Grand Music Hall to concerts or musicals. Hence the name.

I completely agree with this. the ampitheater is better for shows like stunt shows, or even the circus, and musicals and stuff should be in the grand music hall. I think there's more room in the ampitheater, so bigger shows should take place there, not in a somewhat smaller enclosed room. The grand music hall doesn't seem like there'll be enough room. When they say concerts, when has there been a concert at SFgam??? I know they have them at some of the eastern parks, and the western parks, but I've never heard of SFgam having a concert there...

I was the one who said that. What they have at Jewel is not the map as referred to in this topic. It is the brochure that just has a brief description of the park. You would most commonly find one in a hotel lobby.
