Sometimes, I just ponder how SFGAm could make the rides better, and I have some to mention. For BTR, I was thinking that they should put a Joker statue very close to the "fenced' wall (very much in front of the air conditioner). The whole point is that he would have a water spout in him through his flower on his chest. So, he would squirt water at the guests. He can't squirt that hard though.
However, there is a catch. There would be a button that says push me right when you enter Gotham City Park. When people push the button, he will squirt people. The thing is that no-one knows who pushes the button because of the wall.
The other idea with BTR is removing the police car, and putting the Batman car there. The Batman car gets beat up on a regular basis (kids standing on it).
Awhile ago, I said that Chubasco should have the Fright Fest theme all year. People didn't really like that, so I changed my idea slightly. Wouldn't it be fun to go on Chubasco without knowing whether you are getting a dark or a light ride? The operator doesn't even know when you get either ride. I'm taking the twist of Disney's Tower of Terror.
So, those are mine. If you have any, please respond, or you can comment on the mentioned ones.
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"
I always thought it would be cool if on Raging Bull in the figure eight, you rode in and out of a mission that was destroyed by the bull. You could have desks that were torn in half from the bull and stuff like that.
Another idea I have is to retrofit some of the cars on Giant Drop to have a stand up/tilt car, a floorless standup/tilt car, a sit down tilt car, and then the rest normal cars. They have done this on a drop tower at a park in Europe, I want to say it's at Drayton Manor but i'm not too sure. Anyways, I think it would be an easy/cheap addition that they could market.
My last idea doesn't really involve rides but I think it would be cool if the employees had ride/area specific uniforms. I know it'll probably never happen because of money and employees having to at last minute work in a different area and what not, but hey, I can dream can't I?
However, it would be cool to have half of the tower to have a pre drop which drops you about 20 feet, stops and then drops you the full length.(ig. Blue Fall at Sea Paradise in Japan.)
nothing exept money would prevent retrofitting the newer standup cars onto Giant Drop.
I think a better deal would be go for capacity and better reliability and get a ring of seats like PKD intsead of 6 individual cars. However Sky Trek Tower would be better off with a ring of freefalling seats rather than modifying Giant Drop.
Favorite Wood Coasters: The Voyage, Ravine Flyer II, Thunderhead, Balder Favorite Steel: Voltron Nevera, Steel Vengeance, Expedition GeForce, Olympia Looping Parks visited: 232, Coasters Ridden: Steel: 894, Wood: 179, Total: 1073
Nothing excpet money -- and capacity -- would stop Great America from modifying Giant Drop with stand up cars. That, and the Georgia one supposedly isn't such a great ride.
That having been said, the ride system for Giant Drop actually couldn't be easily modified to do the 20 foot drop / 200 foot dropp that was mentioned before. That would require major modifications.
I was thinking that American Eagle should add a HUGE Eagle with red white and blue and stars on it and on holloween the eyes can glow and all!
I know this sound stupid but I think thats a good idea!
Another thing is what sfgamfan said about giant drop having stand up cars and tilting cars! Thats funny but it sounds a little dangerous! But I like it!
My last one would be Splashwater Falls adding one more drop and another bridge!
From being one of the class geeks in 8th grade to one of the most noticable ones in High School. Thats what you call "Steppin Yo Game Up!"
I always wanted more rides to have themes and fun things like that batman idea. Make the queue part of the ride! Throw some interactive things around more often than just during fright fest.
Batman the Ride had a story...its been a little lost lately...maybe its farfetched...but if the ride opts had a little more fun with their jobs they could say things like prepare for take off or excape sequence activated. Y'know, the stupid stuff that just adds to the experience.
Raging Bull should most definately get itself some theming. The queue is boring as all get out. They should take part of the open space around there and put in one of those mechanical bulls...that'd be hilarious! It'd be like the SWT equivilent of Dare Devil Dive.
What you don't understand you can make mean anything.
The horizontal part of v2(end of station to where vertical spike starts) ther should be a lighted tunnel like on demon. And when you launch instead of saying vertical launch the ops say PREPARE FOR LIFTOFF 3,2,1 LIFTOFF then it launches! That would be awesome! And yes, i agree, bull does need some major scenery updates. Like when your going thruogh the line there are bulls every where with mist coming out of thier nose while you are walking through the line on hot days. That would be awesome! And on batman the ride there could be animatronic villains like joker, penguin, riddler, twoface, mr.freeze and BANE. I mean we so have the original batman!
For the 20 foot Giant Drop idea, I'm pretty sure the current design would prevent that from happening. I think the lever that catches the release latch from the cars to the lift mechanism is mounted to the top of the tower. Doing so would require some sort of extensive rehab. Also, it would take a while for the lift mechanism to get back to ground level, relatch, etc. It would be nothing like the Hollywood Tower Hotel.

SFGam does have an original Batman.... As A matter of fact the original Batman.
"Man these boards have gotten so funny I just had to post"DJ
if I could, I would take Demon's tunnel and re-do it. right after the second loop, the track would go into a tunnel, but then it would pull up into a bunny hop that goes above ground and then back underground before going up into the brakes.
I don't have a detonator; its on a timer.
A countdown timer?
No, a count-up timer. It goes from one to explode.

Great idea, though.
For one, this is a crazy idea topic , and secondly, Giant Drop would obviously need an extensive off-season rehab to accomodate the change. But I wouldn't see it being that big of a deal. Anyways, I don't see the park doing this and anyways, it wasn't my idea.(It was that darn Japanese park! )

That would be cool, but the operates cannot change what they say. Also, they say, "Clear for launch" because it is by standards that they have to clear the ride before they launch. They cant change what they say, it is mandatory.
Also, I would love to see SUF get a city theme, put building around it and fly through a building when you go through the barral row. That would make the ride so much cooler, having a fountain, city skyline that you fly around and go through buildings, under bridges, that would be amazing.
Universal Orlando Mechanical Engineer Marathon down, Goofy to go.

Have you ridden it? It's pretty cool..
http://themeparkcritic.com/scripts/profile/ViewProfile.asp?ViewID=2909 A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!
For my "crazy idea" I would get all of Demon's old theming back. I doubt it would ever happen because of those church groups who think that you're going to hell for riding a roller coaster just because it has a sign with big red eyes and the word "Demon" in letters that look like they're on fire.

I've thought about that too. A retractable roof would be nice. If they can do it to a baseball stadium they could do it to a theme park, but with all the money the park would have to spend you probably would never see a new ride or park improvement in your lifetime.

I go to church. DOES MY FAMILY GIVE A CRAP ABOUT THE "DEMON" theme? NO! Who cares about the demon theme?
How about having a special 'backwards' day in the park. Then every ride in the park, including all the flat rides, can go backwards in their cycles. The roller coasters can run the opposite direction of what they're originally programed to and they accelerate on the brakes rather than slow down (they're used as LIM's).
Take for example, Giant Drop. Instead of the great fall in the end, the cars soar directly up to the top, then descend slowly to the bottom. A little bit fast in the beginning, then very slow in the end.
I know this is a crazy idea. But that's the name of the topic here, and I may as well bring one up.
Another crazy idea is turning Giant Drop into a freefall ride like Power Tower, like I explained in a previous topic either by changing the programming and keeping the ride the way it is, or removing it and replacing it with a 300-foot tower. But I don't think that's gonna happen.
Enclosing the park in a dome. ROFL! That'll never happen. But then the park would at least stay open year-round if it did.
And here's a few more:
-- Putting a live moose inside a cage in Mooseburger
-- Removing the TVs from the lines
-- Allowing dogs in the park
-- Opening up the park at 6 AM for walkers like they do at Gurnee Mills
-- Programming Revolution to swing 360 degrees
-- Expanding CCN to build the late Hanna Barbara ride which used to sit at Universal Studios Florida.
...and that's all I can think of for now.
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.
Hear ye, hear ye: "After 45 years, Six Flags has stopped smoking."
YA that dome thing is crazy! Besides it would be HUGE! Think of it . It would have to be taller or atleast as tall as STT. Its the tallest thing in the park. Also i would miss seeing the big helix on eagle every time i pass by on the highway. Another thing i would miss is the big skyline every night/day that great america has. I love driving to sfgam and seeing the top of bull,vu, v2, stt, and gd. MAn im sure you would miss it also.
Another thing is to have seatbelt day(extremely dangurous and never gonna happen, but i can dream cant i? ). Its is where all the rides instead of lapbars or OTSR we could have seatbelts! Damn, imagine your self on v2 on the brake-hold with OTSR, you think your gonna fall out then?! THink of it with seatbelts! OR think of yourself on the first drop of bull with seatbelts, acctually lets not even go there! LOL!
