Finally, here we go! - Hurricane Harbor Construction Thread

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby coasterinsane on February 15th, 2005, 8:43 pm
Finally, here we go! Some verticle construction should be starting soon. There are supports being laid out all over hurricane harbor. Check the cam out. Looks like a crane just may be lifting some in the center of the park. Who knows? Im just excited to see somthing happening again. Oh yeah. Bottom right corner has a bunch too! Just look for yourself.

Yep, noticed the supports there yesterday. I would have to believe that supports made it up today. Also, I'm sure slide pieces will start being moved around by the end of the week.

If any of you saw the Hurricane Harbor story on Fox, I saw ALOT of supports were up, and they were moving around some slide pieces already. Speedy construction!

Am I the only one who can't see any supports that were said to be up since fox aired that HH story? The story was on like a week ago, so wouldn't it be obvious if there were any supports up? Or are the supports far away from the webcam near the wave pool and it's just hard to see?

Supports have been laid out for weeks now. They are white so people could not see them with a snow we had. It appears that they were laying concrete today for the Lazy River. The Big object you see that look like a crane is not. It’s a boom arm so that they can lay concrete. If you look closely you can also see the Red concrete truck right next to it.

I'm happy you posted that picture, because my computer is really screwed up, and on the Six Flags website I can't see the webcam, or the time lapse videos.

Its the concrete boom, not a crane. It was there last week too.

Shouldnt there be an update soon? With construction that is. And the web cam. It says it updates every fifteen minutes. I've seen the same pic up for days at a time.

none of the slides are being put up yet...that thing on fox was staged.

Typically slide construction starts from the bottom and goes up...so it was obviously not something that they were doing at that time.

Once the stupid weather starts cooperating, I estimate another three weeks til they actually start installing the slide structures.

The webcam updates once a day around 6pm. The image is almost always taken around 11:50am.

The website should update this week (if trends hold true).

They have updated the construction page with new pictures and a new journal entry. In the entry, it says the target opening day is memorial day weekend.

I just noticed... if you look between raging bull and viper there are some white things. Most likely trailers.. But could that be where you can get it as well?

Today, I drove by GAm a few times. Nothing much has changed. Lots of green things near the entrance. And Lots of dirt near I-94. So I highly doubt there will be anything noticeable for a while.
