Hurricane Harbor. I dont even know what Noah's Ark has to offer besides 2 wave pools. I think the park is ugly and redneckish anyway. Hurricane Harbor will be way better in my opinion because it will be way cooler looking and have a great selection of slides PLUS the worlds largest play structure.

I can make a bet that most people here will say Hurricane Harbor. I love Noah's Ark selection of attractions, but Hurricane Harbor will have much better scenery. I will probably go to both, but Hurricane Harbor more.

Hurricane Harbor won't even come close to Noah's Ark. Think about it... How can 13 acres and 25 slides even COME CLOSE to America's Largest Waterpark of 70 acres?? Wisconsin Dells is the number one tourist destination in the Midwest and the waterpark capitol of the world. Don't think for one second that a pathetic (compared to the Ark) Six Flags waterpark will even dream of coming anywhere near Noah's Ark's dominance in the waterpark industry. I can't imagine that this waterpark will be a huge step up for Six Flags waterparks, which it won't. Even if it were, Noah's Ark would still be way better. I believe that HH will have huge attendance early in the summer because people will want to check it out. However, once they do, they will realize that it doesn't even compare to Noah's Ark. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure HH will be a great addition to SFGAm and a great waterpark. But, there's no way you can even put it in the same category as Noah's Ark.

I'm not a big waterpark person, but for convenience sake I'll probably go to hurrican harbor more. But the Dellsfreak should know, there is definately no competition. Dells has a lot more to offer in the way of water attractions.

/\ Yeah. I've never been to Noah's Arc and it's too far away for me to go everyday. So I think Hurricane Harbor would be better, for my convenience.

Why would someone with the name Dellsfreak register slightly over two weeks after the conference call (call on 8/10, registered 8/27... ), come to a Six Flags Great America fan site, have a "Noah's Ark" signature, and start posting on how Noah's Ark will be vastly superior to anything SFGAm can do? An ambassador from the park worried about potential attendance declines, perhaps? I think I might register the name "UniversalFan" and start posting on the Disney boards with that mindset.

We don't want to hear it. Similar to how the Cedar Point Vs. Great America threads aren't tolerated here, this should be no different. Noah's Ark is a great park, no doubt. Great America will have a great waterpark, no doubt. The two can co-exist and please their different regions.

Yes, SFGAm's new Hurricane Harbor will definitely affect the attendance of Noah's Ark. Noah's Ark is adding a new $2 million dollar attraction next year which should help to curb this a bit, but the point is, almost no fan sites are very lenient to people coming on their forums and posting "LOL! My park is better than yours will ever be!!!1111"

Well, yeah, but we can still say that we have better coasters than the dells. I think the reason it took them so long to build a waterpark with our six flags is because of the dells in the first place. With the dells being so close to the wisconson patrons there will be no point in them coming down to our decent waterpark, they could go down the street to their fantastic waterpark. But the Illinois GP will find it more convenient to go to HH because it is closer, and probably cheaper so far as finding a place to stay and so on. I wouldn't really know, I've never been to the dells, but I hear the hotels are a bit pricey at times.

I was thinking the same thing.
Plus this being a coaster site, DellsFreak05 has only posted about water parks...

You can post on anything you please. And remember, just because it is bigger, doesn't mean it is better. Noah's Ark is huge and all, but my feet were killing at the days end and the place barely had any shade. Yes, the park will have more water attractions, but the place is over 20 years old.

I went to Noah's Ark for the first time this year, and I can tell you it is not that great at all. They used Black top Pavement that has not been repaved in years. Also, some new rides were just plot in the parking lot and you can still see the lines for the parking spaces. And also, what is up with the fences, they build these fences all around that you can get anywhere.

Seems to me that the winner in this battle is HH, and no one's even been yet. Sounds good to me. I just hope that the entry price isn't the same as six flags, that'd be outragious.

Noah's ark will still be better, but HH will be GREAT for the Chicagoland area. Think about it, besides Magic Waters, Chicago doesn't have much to offer in the waterpark industry. In 2005, lots more visiters will come to HH from the Chicago area, and what's not to like when there's a theme park directly next you?

Um, because he is right. As I read this topic 75% of you have never been to Noah's Ark but still voted for HH. The only problem I've ever had with Noah's Ark is that it most of the walkways should be repaved because If you don't have sandels your feet will be in pain after an hour or two. They have slides that will dominate anything SFI gives our HH. The only thing Noah's Ark lacks is the world's largest play structure.

Amazing, seems like not many people have been to Noah's Ark either. And also if the entry price for SFHH is more than $30 it will be more expensive than my ticket was last year at Noah's Ark (only 28 dollars). If a single day pass is more than 30 dollars I think it would be a complete ripoff.

Well if you dont know what Noah's Ark has to offer (Which is alot) then how can you say Hurricane Harbor is better. Hurricane Harbor will be a nicer looking water park, however as for rides noah's ark has alot to offer in that catergory

Don't get me wrong. I think HH will be a great waterpark and a great addition to SFGAm. It is true that it will be a nice alternative to the dells for the IL people. However, when it comes to just flat out comparing the two parks, there will be no competition. I'm happy for SF putting in a waterpark and I'm sure it'll be awesome. I also agree with w00dland, next summer - why don't you try both? Then you can decide for yourself.

Having been Noah's Ark numerous times and while not having been to this HH harbor yet, i have been to other SF water parks. And while they are nice they are no comparsion at all to what Noah's Ark has to offer. The new water park will have no effect at all on Noah's Ark. People arent going to not visit Wisc. Dells and spend several days at SFGAM. While the park is very good, there is little else in the area other than shopping which can be found anywhere.
As for scenery, i would wait and see how HH actually turns out and not go by a drawing made up for pr purposes. SF parks arent known at all for having much more than medicore theming at best so before one judges how HH will look lets see the finished product and not pr drawing's .

Actually, I thought SfStl's theming for Hurricane Harbor was great and far more than expected. Also, from pictures, I thought SfGadv's Hurricane Harbor had great theming too. Noah's Ark had very little theming.

I've heard that the HH's usually are themed very well... in addition, SFGAm has a reputation (one that is not upheld by other parks in the chain) of being a really well-themed park. Therefore, I would expect the management, if nothing else, to insist on great theming.

Hurricane Harbor will be good. It is going to be compact with 25 slides and the wrold's largest water structure, and will be located to SFGAm. Noah's Ark, however, is large with almost the same number of slides. They have very little theming and they are located near Mt. Olympus Theme Parks. So they both have advantages and disadvantages to them, they are both very good waterparks.

I personally have not been to any Six Flags water parks but from what I have seen in pictures the theming is MUCH better then Noahs Ark. Now I was just at Noahs Ark this summer and I was defnitley not impressed. I was staying at Kalahari so maybe that is why  All my childhood we would go to the Dells and Noahs Ark and now that I'm older I just am seeing how blah it is. Personally for me atmosphere makes or breaks a park so based upon that HH is going to be awesome! I love the carribean.. hula music.. pina colada atmosphere that HH will be! I can't wait. But then again that is just me. Atmosphere may not mean much to others.
