For some reason, today SFGAm was packed, and I mean PACKED with families. There were so many little kids there I thaught I was at Kiddieland or something. I know that the family attendance this year is way up (Mr. Six ownz you, lol), and why not? They spend all the money anyway. But the good comes with the bad, there were a lot of very little kids in line for rides like Vu and Raging Bull then they would really slow down the load times for height checks and then the parents would complain when they were to short .
With the good news, of course theres some bad news. As you can imagine, when the park is packed with families lines for rides like Demon and Whizzer get huge (Vu was using 1 switchback with a grouper and the line was back to the entrance, while Whizzer was using the full queues out the entrance and Demon was using the full queues and the horshoe at the entrance)...also now that Whizzer and Demon don't run 3 trains on weekdays .

From what my parents told me when they drove up to the Milwakee Fest, they said that Grand Ave. to get into SFGAm was backed up for 7 miles on Saturday afternoon.
Universal Orlando Mechanical Engineer Marathon down, Goofy to go.
Acually Papas, Six Flags (In general) attendance is down this year from previous years.
Just do a search on any finance website avout PKS and you will find that investers are dumping their shares faster than hot rocks at the latest news of earning losses and dropped attendance.
But Mr. Six and the clever "It's Playtime" campaign seem to have missed the bus. Last night, the company reported that turnstile traffic fell by 4% through the first six months of the year. While per-capita guest spending was on the rise, in sum it had chain revenues coming in 1% lower.
In general, SFGAm has always and will always do well for SF, the weather hasn't been to good but on nice days this season they have been packed. Also every day now has been very, very busy (it should get a little more quiet after read to succeed and Coke).
I've been seeing the park was not crowded through trip reports before. That gets me more worried considering it's July. For the way I see it, if SFGAm doesn't keep it up, and other SF parks that don't get enough attendance continue there streak, SFGAm will be gone also.

Ilovethevu, chill. Cedar Point hasn't even been that busy lately. All the parks I have recently visited have all had relatively short lines for this time of the season and being a weekday. It's a common trend in the US. Not as many people are at amusement parks. Ever think of it this way . . . what if there was one day where no one decided to go to a park. I mean, how do you have such a consistent number of people every day say, "I want to go to SFGAm." What if one day, no one showed up. Think about it, it could happen.
I think I'm more worried now. People not going to amusement parks makes me think of how long will they stay around.
