Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

I was at GAm the other day and when I was getting ready to get on to the eagle, i noticed that after all the people that had just gotton off the platform, the ride op turned the counter a few times, I pointed it out to my friend, and he said that he saw that all day on the other coasters, after that i noticed it on viper, bull, wolf, and demon. Do the ride ops get paid more if more people come or what? I just thought that was kind of wierd.

They want to know how many people ride each coaster, what is popular and what isn't.

They do that when they have handicap riders because they can't go through the turnstyle.

Yea, the ops get paid more if they work on the more popular ride. That sure wouldn't be fair.

Or they want to save the ride. (Pretend Smile)

I'm sure the ride ops get paid on commission.

Ummm, I hope you were kidding. And if they really did get paid "on commission" then I hope you weren't okay with the fact that they were doing that. Just like hopefully no one here rents a wheelchair just to cut to the front of the line.

Why would you get commision for working a ride? You can't help that RB gets more packed then Chubasco. Let's say that you have two trains on RB full. This would be 72 people. Let's say that three people fit in every car for Chubasco. That would be 36 people. It doesn't make sense.

The only people I would see getting commision is the food people that move around (not workers stationed at a food stand), and the game people.

I HIGHLY doubt any seasonal positions are based on comission.
So forget about it.

And the entire commission thing was a joke - I'm sure they get paid by the hour.

Yeah wow don't take it too seriously! Besides even if they did get paid commision, they rotate rides so it wouldn't be totally bad. But even so, that's ridiculous to even think about, getting paid more because you work a more popular ride...lol wow.

When they come around to check numbers, they might roll it ahead to the next ten, so that it's a little easier to add the next time.

I was wondering if you flip the ride counter backwards, will it decrease the number, or will it stay the same?

They're not locked...try pushing one of them backwards. I'm not sure though if it decreases the count then. I was wondering that too. I guess that would make sense...

It's just like driving your car in reverse - it doesn't decrease the number of miles on your car.
