How long until....?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Ilovthevu' on July 12th, 2004, 1:45 pm
This topic has come up after someone said that this was their last year. That's fine with me.

However, for me I can't imagine the rest of my life without going to SFGAm, other amusement parks, and carnivals. I really hope that I do drop dead on a ride. This opinion could change, but I highly doubt it. When I went to the park last year, I saw some coaster enthusiasts that were 35-40. I know that human bodies can only take so much, but I will try to keep it up as long as possible.

So, when will you stop?

I will stop until the coaster start to get boring, or just there is no more innovative coasters, probably not ever. But one has to stop, I would stop visiting frequently when my serious work starts. Then never end visting once or twice a year.

I can't imagine ever stopping. I'll quit whenever I start to get bored with them, which won't be for a long time.

I can't see myself just stop going to SFGAM, I may not go as often as I do now, but I don't plan on stopping all together.

I'll keep going to SFGAm untill I'm about 50 or 60 probably. But, then I would probably just go to go on more tame rides and to watch my grandchildren/children.

I can only handle going maybe twice a month, before it gets boring.

A 101 year old women rode rollercoasters all her life. This is the website I found it at.

I think that when some people get older from teen to 20-30's, they believe it's boring. I think part of the reason for this has to do with what other people are doing (your peers). During this time, people experiment with other things. This now becomes the "in" thing to do.

However, I believe with the older you get, (50s and beyond) people get scared again, and become more frightful of rides.

I dont think you become more scared of rides as you get older, when you reach 50, many people have many physical limitations

Yeah I was gonna say - 35-40 is very young. I saw a lady at Coastercon that was 85 and still riding. There is no limit for some people. Heck, my parents are in their mid 40's and still riding without problems.

I'll stop when I get too tall. (which will never happen because I once saw a 7'0" tall person ride Bull.) If she could ride it I can surely ride it!

My uncle is 76 and he rode Raging Bull 10 times with me on Mother's Day. I never wanna stop. I get laughed at for being an enthusiast, I get looked down on. Do you really think I care? Im raising my kid's as coaster enthusiasts. Actually, I'll stay one, and long as the site stays up. :D

Tyster22, if coasterdude12 says that he saw a girl by that height ride it, she did. You are the one with the three year old ride on the Eagle, and yet you question the height of a girl.

Instead of trying to find something false, ADD to the topic.

That's awesome. When you say you're still young, what age are we talking here? I'm 17 but I'm starting to feel old around all you guys on here! What would you say the average age is on these boards?

Is say around 8, but thats just my evaluation of the knowledge on the boards.

im 20, and I have cut down my SFgam visits to around 4-5 (not including FF) a year, and each visit provides just enough thrill where I don't get bored. Any more than 5 visits and I start to get bored.
