Yes, everyone loves that Venga Boys song and so do I (some people don't), but right at closing time, they start playing that "Disney" type of song. Sadly, the park is closed, but I like that song a lot. I think last year they just started playing it. It's kind of funny hearing it and you are not somewhere else like a kiddie park. So, what do guys think about it?

"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"
Not the Venga Boys, the closing time song. They say something about riding a merry-go-round.

I saw a stupid play or show called "Carousel" because my parents made me, but I don't remember that song. Do you like that song?

I'm not talking about "We like to party". But you know when they put on their little show by the carousel. It may be called Carousel, but I don't think so. Who sings it?
I didn't know that they opened the park with that song. What time can you here it at in the beginning? It has to be played before 10. Also, how is that show in front? I heard it once, but I never stopped for it.

I don't like that song anymore. It annoys me now. I can't listen to it all day. Whenever the commercials come on, I change the channel.

The name of the song is "Carousel Song". The song was owned by the Marriott Corporation when both this park and its California sister opened in 1976. It opened and closed the park as long as I can remember. I can't tell you who sung the song because I don't even consider it published. But it's a great song which brings back fond memories.
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.
Hear ye, hear ye: "After 45 years, Six Flags has stopped smoking."
Also, I would like to add that the song (at least at the end of the day) works as a tool. You no longer have higher-ups going to each ride and say shut the line. They here the song, and they shut the line themselves. Another thing is that if for so long SFGAm had it, why have they not played that much until now?
How is that show in front of the carousel that supposedly contains the Carousel song?

The Show in the front does not have the Carousel Song in it. The Carousel song (Which I believe there are 2 different versions one for opening and one for closing) plays thru the rest of the park except carousel plaza.
Since they have been playing it for so many years, was it only played in the front of the park until now because I never heard it until this year, and do you like the song? I can understand that because I'm waiting to go on a ride at closing time. Now, I could hear it on D Vu or even near SUF. It's so different then the normal music they play, you think I would have heard that before.

Its a nice song. Much better then the whole thing where The Venga Boys plays for a whole half hour so the parade can get through. I actually liked that jumpin jamboree song better, and that song was quite obnoxious as well. The carousel song is the song that marks the end of the obnoxious music, and makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.
What you don't understand you can make mean anything.
Yeah, I've never heard the song until this year either. Are we all thinking of the same song? I'm thinking of the one that sounds really old (like it would be from the Marriott days as previously stated), and it's got a bunch of men and women singing. It does sound somewhat Disney-esque. I like the song, it's a nice traditional sounding song that makes the park feel just that much more friendly.
Has anyone else heard this song from just this year and how is the "carousel show" (show in front of the Carousel) in front of the park?

I heard that song sometime last season, and it was at the front of the park. I think I heard it once or twice in County Fair this season. It's a nice song.
