This would be something

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Geno21K on June 24th, 2004, 10:10 am
Just caught a glimpse of this one, has anyone else come across it?

'Get ready all you Great America fans because next year expect something big, REALLY big! Six Flags Great America will bump up the coaster count to a whopping 14 with the addition of two new coasters in 2005. The first of the two rides will be the beloved Shockwave back in action, but with a twist. The new Shockwave will be all new colors and will feature a new element absent in the original coaster. The placement for the ride will be next to Raging Bull and Viper. The second new coaster will be that, NEW. The coaster will be a B&M Turbo, a new prototype coaster. The B&M Turbo is a launched coaster similar to Top Thrill Dragster, only with the riders hanging under the track like Superman Ultimate Flight. The ride will blast riders out at 100 mph down a straightaway then shooting the riders up a 359 ft tall tower. The riders then do a 90 degree spin so that the car can go over a top-hat, then plummit the riders down while heading straight for the ground right before the track curves up and the ride finishes along a another straight away along with a inline barral roll. In all, the coaster will be about 2900 ft long and will last about 25 seconds. This B&M Turbo has not been built anywhere else in the world and will be the first of its kind. Expect a formal announcement sometime at the end of July!'

Of course all of us with brains in our skulls know that, at this point, this looks about as likely as getting struck by lightning while on the top of Eagle's lift hill, but I figured you'd all have some fun discussing it. I usually don't post stuff like this, but my evil alter ego just couldn't resist this one.
I'm gonna twist ya, and I'm gonna flip ya. Every time you squeal, I'm just gonna go faster and harder.

That wouldn't of happened to be taken from a source like Screamscape would it?

I still don't see why people can't get over the SW phase...it was here, they took it down, it will never be put back up at least at Great America.

Also, about the Turbo Thing, GAm does have a height restriction, and so I doubt the city of Gurnee would let them build something like that.

Basically, it's a speculation that won't happen.

That would be nice, but, that would never happen.

This is probably going to get deleted or locked...

How tall is the Sky Trek Tower? And this turbo coaster doesn't sound to realistic to me. Flying, launching 100 mph and doing just about the same layout as TTD.

Geno: Where did you see that?
Rct2Wizard: Why can't they? Really it would be an awsome idea if B&M did.

SFGAMkid: I agree with you right now. They could build it but it would take a lot of work to get the city to let them build somthing that tall.

I am gonna wait till I here actul word from SFGAm before I belive any rumor and will enjoy what I got now and wait till the off season before making speculation on next years attractions if there is any.

I'm suprised this hasn't got deleted or locked yet but that soon may happen.

Edit: I know where this came from. It came from http://www.coaster-net.com in there rumor section. Go here: http://www.coaster-net.com/news/rumorsa ... ve=2004-06
Most of there rumors are BS, so I wouldn't belive this one.
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/

I've enjoyed the replies up to this point. Like I said, I don't believe any of this either. It would be very cool, but I never sink my teeth into a rumor. There's no point since there are so many locals at the park who report things before they happen. Look at what happend with S:UF, we knew what was coming months before SF actually released it. When it comes to new rides, we always know way ahead of time. I just found this rumor to be so grandios that I had to post it to see what people had to say. Let's enjoy 2004, but get ready for Shockwave and the B & M Turbo in 2005! lol

That is so stupid, that makes no sense. Even running raging bull backwards makes no sense. I mean it would be awesome to have a B&M "turbo" coaster, but I myself wouldn't want shockwave back unlsess they smoothed out the ride a little bit.
2010 is going to be one to remember forever!!

Like somone already said, B&M doesn't do launch coasters, the launch for Hulk was actually outsourced to another company because B&M wouldn't do it.

The height of Sky Trek Tower is 310 feet, and that is the maximum height limit for anything to be built in the park.

Oh yea, almost forgot, locked!
