Question about Superman?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby mallclerks on June 17th, 2004, 1:30 am
Im not sure if its been discussed before (I tried searching, nothing comes up) but why on superman do they make you carry everything with you onto the ride? I can see how it would partially speed up boarding time, but isnt it a huge safety issue? Today I seen them actually telling people that they couldnt ride because they had stuffed animals with them, unless they wanted to carry it on with them :/

So why dont they put storage bins in like on every other ride and make it easy for everyone :?:

There is an op that stands in front of the line and tells you if something is to big to bring onto a ride and you will have to put them in a locker. Anything else you are bringing on with the risk of losing it. It is mostly to speed up loading time.

Ive always wandered why they dont have bins either.
BTW, does Ragin' Cajun have storage bins? I didn't check the only time I rode it.

No idea for Superman, doesnt seem right.

For Cajun, I've only ridden it once now when it's open to the public, I didnt notice any bins but there was a pile of stuff on the ground in the loading station (waterbottles, game prizes, etc), so I guess unofficially you can leave stuff in the station.

To speed up loading times. Or as they would say:
"To speed up the boarding process."

You know, it would speed up the boarding process more if they just had the bins because it takes longer for somebody to leave their stuff with a "Non-rider" than it is for somebody to stick it in one of those bins in my opinion.

Most people leave their items with a non-rider that does not stand in the queue line or puts their items in a locker. Not that many people give their items to people that stand in line with them, and that definitly does not take as long as walking to bins in the back middle part of the station.

They just want you to spend $$ on lockers. Which is also why you play games at the END of your trip.

Today they were running one train and they had portable bins in the station for people to put they're loose articles, assuming they didn't want to make people even angrier after waiting through full queue with 1 train :x.
Hopefully they'll get the other train up soon it is horrid with 1 train op.

I can now confirm that the loose article policy is no longer in effect on S:UF and the bins are in the station to stay.

That is excellent news that they finally have bins in there, I usually get pretty worried hiding my stuff on the other side of those giant pillars in the entrance...

Are you kidding me, D Vu would be gone according to the forums? Everyday it seems that there is a new topic about D Vu on this site.

On the side note:
Like BTR, it seems like SUF is also hauling especially on the 20th. B&M rides sure get a whole faster the longer they are up.

Well, Shockwave would also be back, so would Sky Whirl and most of our other past coasters. We would have a 900 Ft. Rocket Coaster and A few Floorless Ccoasters....so I'm thinkin they don't read the forums...

Why would SFGAm tell you anything that you don't need to know, they just want you to visit and not think about what will happen next year

Danhockey, obviously you havent been around here long enough to know that some people here, unfortunately are never pleased. These people were, and always will be talking about what we are going to get this year, or the year after that, and they dont take the time to realize how damn lucky we are to get what we got.

Exactly enjoy what we have, we have 13 awesome coasters, something most parks don't have, why care about the future, worry about the present

Honestly, all parks need improvements during, before, or after the season. I meant it as a joke to put Haybayler back. Yes, I do like that ride, but I will wait till next season or probably never.

I guess when you really like a park such as SFGAm, you just want everything to be perfect. So, everyone will have complaints: from bins to roller coasters. I can tell you that everyone (at least on this site) does have a love for SFGAm because everyone is very passionate about it.

So, if we don't get a ride next year or the year after that, people (people at least on this forum) would still run to SFGAm as soon as they could everytime they could.

Nice improvement, the bins!! Good job to SFGAm.
