Shockwave?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

What is SFGA doing with Shockwave? When I was on the lifts for rides I could see the parts. They were just in a field just outside of the park. What are they going to do with those parts. I've heard there shipping it to another park and I heard it's going to be put in Ykon Territory. Does anybody know?

I heard they were gonna scrap the parts for recycled steel. They said it would be too expensive to ship the coaster to another park. Besides, it would be a wise move in response to the steel crisis. The same thing is happening to the Haybaler, Sky Whirl, Power Dive, and probably Cajun Cliffhanger.
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.

I always wondered/questioned why Shockwave posts were immediately deleted, guess I hadnt read these forums long enough, now I know the answer (cause it comes up every other day, and it's always the same damn thing)

But I think it will eventually be moved to another park, no telling which park or when though. Only SF corperate knows that.

Also in the same situation, PGA's tidal wave was bought 2 years ago by SF, the ride was (very suddenly)disassembled, shipped to SFMW and it's been sitting in pieces in the parking lot ever since then similar to Shockwave. I think they are both part of a long term plan. Possibly a future flagging of one of SF's lesser non SF branded parks, that woudl be my best guess.

It also will need some retracking. To tell you the truth I don't even think Tim Black knows what is going on with it.

Yea I saw shockwave closely while I was on the train. I also saw what looked like an old mini ferris wheel. Weird.

cajun cliffhanger was a ride that spun and the floor dropped out and you clung to the wall, it was pretty fun ride until a girl got her foot caught in the floor and her foot was crushed. It was determined that she was at fault. but the ride was still removed.

No one knows anything abouth shockwave, sensless to even speculate, speculation leads to rumors which leads to people making crap up. that being said, only time will tell, so wait.
