It is being used here, Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, and another Six Flags Park; as well as another park in Europe. It is based off of a TV show called Stargate 1 or something like that. (kinda Star Treky but I've never watched an episode of that and I'm sure someone here has and they'll say that they're completely different, but oh well 8) )

based off Stargate SG-1 which is based off Stargate. its got some amazing episodes and some episodes that make you embarassed to watch.

I haven't been to Great America yet this year  so I can't comment on the ride.
I don't have a detonator; its on a timer.
A countdown timer?
No, a count-up timer. It goes from one to explode.

Eh, the ride ain't that great, better than SSA(last season's motion ride) but still not that much of a thrill.
The storyline is aight but it is just another "chase this person, get this thing, and save the world" type of story.

Now the Dino ride they had there for some time was awsome. I liked how it was in 3D and was a motion ride. :D Too bad they removed it and replaced it with somthing boring. :(
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/

Stargate SG 3000 would be good if it was a little 3D pod but the big theatre type setting kind of ruins it.

Yea Stargate would have been awesome in 3D. But then to make it more exiting for me they would have to throw in alot of flames and make the temple look like it is going to fall right on us. And make the attacks more real looking. and make the whole place blow up in the final scene just as we make it through the stargate in the nick of time

Yep. The seating is exactly the same.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

They should just get rid of it completely and replace it with IOA's Spiderman... good lord is that ride AMAZING! Nonetheless I agree, 3D rides work a lot better. Dino Island had some good visuals (Remember the fish and the dragonfly that come right up to your face... it actually made me flinch the first time.) Anyone ever ridden the Spongebob 3D simulator... that one is a classic!

you put down the $200+ mil and I'm sure SFGAm would be more than happy to build a Spiderman Clone :)

They have that every year at Frighfest. That would be better in a smaller simulator and not a Movie Theater of that size. I've been on at the ones at Navy Pier, and they are better because they are smaller and the screen takes up more than half of the front of the car plus a little bit of the sides. And yes a Spiderman Clone would rule!
