I am planning a trip to SFGAm. and CP on Aug. 23-27. It will be my first time to both parks. I am from Arkansas and was just wondering what the weather is like up there that time of year and if that isn't a good time to go. Thanks for any help

1 off topic Q. can i put my own pic under my name, if so, how? (not a cpu wiz) Or a pic from another site?

Augest up here is usually humid and sticky. If it rains it rains hard. If it's sunny its really sunny and really hott. August is my least favorite month.

No, no pics of yourself.

You can only attach an avatar from the list provided in your profile.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

Shorts and t-shirts are fine in August. You won't need sunscreen in the end of August unless you're really worried about getting skin cancer in 20 years. There aren't any bugs at SFGAm, even though Chicago's humid weather is known for bring lots of mosquitos.

Bugs are also swarming this time of the year too.

All the early morning/dusk rides I've had in the front row during late summer have been fine. I wouldn't worry about it, as our bug problem is nowhere near as bad as Cedar Point's.

Well if SF would empty a garbage can once and awhile they wouldn't have as much to feed off of.

They change the bags every day, also they clean the queue house every morning and night (where a lot of the problem is with sticky soda and everything).

I believe Six Flags does have a Helicopter come by and spray the hole entire park with Bug Killer, that’s why I think you do not see many bugs around the park.

I just remembered. The 17 year cicadas are swarming this summer so for 2 weeks, look for everything to be covered in large beetles.

well lately overhere the weather has been crappy, all the rain and whatnot. It seems we'd have had like 2 weeks worth of rain, or alot in the past week.

I hope this trend ends soon, and now we're starting to get 70 and 80 degree weather. Something tells me we're gonna have a HOT summer.

And, I do hope it's a nice day on May 31st when I go to SFGAm!
