I want to seperate this topic from the other v2 topics because it`s something I feel very stongly about and I would like feedback from you. I HATE THE NEW SUPPORTS ON V2!!!!!!!! The track is designed to sway. By adding more support, the track doesn`t sway as much, adding more stress to the ride because now the towers are more rigid. Not to mention, the new supports ruin the aesthetic of the ride.
Personally I don't think they even helped the swaying all that much anyways. The tower isn't going to snap, our harnesses aren't going to magically stop working...v2 is safe and good.

Well, they could of matched the colors better and they are pretty rusty. It looks terrible in my opinion. It could of been that big of a problem because if it was the ride would have always had the supports.

The added supports will NOT make V2 form stress fractures in its supports. They were added to prevent this. They also do NOT make the supports not sway all together they just make it not sway as much. Too much swaying is bad for any steel structure, the supports just prevent this.
Regardless of what you guys think about the supports, I'm sure they were necessary. Why the heck would they add supports unless there was a serious problem that might need to be corrected. You are not the engineer who determined they were needed, so why are you second guessing?
If they're there, there are necessary. Simple reason why: if it's a required safty change, they were constructed and installed at INTAMIN's cost NOT SIX FLAGS'! And do you really think a company with financial woes is going to spend the money to design, construct and install... how many of this ride are there now?... sets of supports unless there's some pretty damning evidence that something might break?

THANK YOU. He makes the exact point I was going to make. They added the supports BECAUSE THEY WERE NECESSARY. Not because Six Flags wanted to make the ride look ugly to piss off people on sfgamworld.com! Honestly, all my friends complain about them, and I didn't even notice them until Sunday. It's no big deal... not nearly as bad as people put it out to be. If you want to see ugly... V2 at SFMW... yeah that has issues.
No your wrong because the park ONLY cares about the looks of its rides! Six Flags just liked how those things looked, not like it was for saftey reasons.
Thank you all for your feedback. Iappreciate it. You guys are right. I need to deal. There`s nothing I can do about it now, and you`re right again, it doesn`t change the ride at all. It`s still great!!!
