Are those very "Americana" looking queue coverings really going to be the final designs? They were talking about wanting to do immersive & very specific theming for this coaster & those just don't ...fit. I mean I guess it blends nicely with the county fair food court.

Americana theme park when it uses americana looking queue coverings.
All seriousness. yeah i hope that's temporary because that's gonna knock points for me. I was holding off of not complaining about the ride's theme not being American and fitting into the County Fair because A. It tied in to spare Demon, and B. they promised immersive theming as stated above. I also hope they don't go into the route the flash did at Great Adventure because man... the queue is..... something.
Old Great America was better, however I hope just a bit of that charm comes back

CCG - THANKS for all you've done to cover this amazing ride! Your latest video #48 was super helpful to make sense of the blueprints!

I think the Sky Striker shade covering is “supposed” to be temporary. These structures with the shingle roofs are likely permanent. I don’t see how that takes away from the theming design.
It grinds my gears when people complain about lack of theming on rides especially on a new coaster, I get it we want to see theming on wrath as much as anyone else does, but in all reality you can't have you cake and eat it too, I might be the only who just accepts this but what little theming elements they put in for wrath is fine for now, and just get the ride open in the summer, cause they will add more later on and I'll willing to be patient and not get upset for the lack of theming they've added in for wrath, I rather them do that the delay the opening of the ride at last minute just to add more theming it, this would hurt Great America and the consumer too.
this may ruffle a few feathers here but that's how I see it from my perspective.

Well in the case of Wrath, they want the theming to be part of the experience so it's more important for wrath if anything

Nope, no way that's temporary. It's installed as if it's permanent. My guess it was chosen specifically to match X-Flight.

Shame, i think some sort of meteorologist building would be cool. Or because it's in the County Fair, maybe some destroyed Game Booths or something lol

I agree with you and I'll go further: the ride is what's MOST important, not the theming or lack thereof.
All Disney rides are "all show and no go".

I agree there is no way the structures are temporary. To me they are very reminiscent of Mystic Timbers and Twisted Timbers, Iron Menace might have even had one
Sucker for a launch, custom audio and Demon | Coaster Count: 626
I think the structures are way better than what Maxx Force or Sky Striker have. That said I do wonder what the immersive element to the queue will be…because all we can see is a few tvs, a few signs, and some sort of statue. I’m holding my judgment now since it hasn’t even been built yet.

I like stuff at Disney… guardian’s of the galaxy is great, expedition Everest, Tron is okay, space mountain, rock n roller coaster. They have some solids with theming. Do I think WOR should get theming like these, no. Honestly I don’t see them doing too much to WOR but time will tell.

Sounds like you just described the queue for Banshee lol.
But yeah I’m also curious to see what happens with the theme. Also was anyone able to make out the tunnel on the blueprints? Wasn’t it supposed to be an exit tunnel of some sort ?
Tidal_Waver wrote:Also was anyone able to make out the tunnel on the blueprints? Wasn’t it supposed to be an exit tunnel of some sort ?
It looks like the tunnel is basically just a ramp down underneath the station while you’re exiting. Also I can’t tell for sure but it looks like the entire exit walkway is covered with a roof except for the section underneath the station since it’s already covered.
I'm not complaining, I'm expressing what was said vs what I'm seeing. I'm very aware of the park being called Great America. & those coverings would work well in MANY other areas of the park.
Those coverings however, would look awesome for Sky Striker as there is no real theme there, just that it's a ride in the county fair area so those "Americana" looking coverings would fit well. For a ride with a Hindu theme, not so much. I have been very excited to see what they do with this because of what they've expressed they want to do let alone what has been done in the chain with rides like Copper Head Strike & Rapterra. So yes, I am hopeful for a little theming to tie in the name. Not a complaint.
Keep in mind everyone that these plans only show things that will be permanently installed that has foundations or electrical or water. These queue houses could still be heavily themed with items hanging and other stuff. The decor if they plan and using any wouldn’t be on these plans. So there’s still hope for some kind of “theming” per se.
