The whole ride concerns me, i'm interested in it but there's a small part of me that's like "i would've invested someplace else as a Park President". Don't think anyone else would get me here though
Old Great America was better, however I hope just a bit of that charm comes back

Not to be rude, but what else could have the park invested in that you would have been satisfied with? Because it seems like you're never happy with anything the park does.
The one place me and you would find common ground in would be how they gutted Hometown Square for Ignite.
Or the current state of Camp Cartoon and kidzopolis.
We know with Cedar Fair in charge, changes will come to those areas in time. Kings Island is known for having one of the best kids areas of all time.

I wasn't thinking much about a new coaster but more so TLC on the current rides like American Eagle, and just in general the entire park like repaints and stuff, because some parts of the park look really bad. I'm also not that keen on Great America being just a "thrill park" because i see alot of potential in other aspects like theming and the experience (which is what this combined company is going to moving forward with)
I'm not saying this because i hate Great America or something, i love the park, i love their passion, i love the history, and they've done cool things recently like Great Summer Nights. I just think the whole "Coaster Park" motto is not the way to go, this does not mean i want them to stop adding new coasters. I just don't want the park to fill it with only coasters like Magic Mountain, and instead focus on the experience itself, and improving things like the kiddie areas and theming in the areas they have rn.
I wish i had more ideas but the last 2 things i mentioned, plus maybe some more intense flats we're missing. But i trust Cedar Fair to have a good idea what to do with the park's theming.
(also more Looney Tunes, always good to have more Looney Tunes at Great America)

Cedar Fair will definitely take theming and park history into consideration. They've been doing a great job with the Jungle area at Kings Dominion, by retheming rides that had nothing to do with the Jungle and making them fit the area.
I think they'll focus on a lot of theming upgrades and general park improvements on off years when we don't get a major new attraction. 2026 will almost certainly be one of those years. We already know they're getting a new kids area, we just don't know if it will be a brand-new area or a refurbishment of one of the existing areas.
As far as the coasters go. It's what brings guests through the gates. But I agree, it can be a coaster park that is well themed and sticks to its roots

You're kind of contradicting yourself here -
On one hand you specifically mention that you wished the park when in a different direction for 2025, then you say you welcome it. So, which is it?
Second, you mention TLC on Eagle, which it has been getting this off-season, so that makes little sense as well. You mention more TLC on rides, in that section - Which BTR has gotten extensively, V2 had a major re-theme and TLC as well. Roaring Rapids, STT? Seems like you've conveniently forgot those.
3rd, you said the park president should have invested somewhere else that the area where Rakshasa is, That also is where one of the biggest eyesores in the park was for many many seasons, so complaining about that is borderline ridiculous as Battle was universally panned was a terrible addition to the park.
4th, More Looney Tunes? ok, if you're over the age of 35 MAYBE you could appreciate that, but the target audience of Cedar Flags is looking for a younger audience that hasn't and won't see them. Its old and fading away. People want things they relate too, and LT isn't it.
Keep in mind that John stated we were supposed to get Dr D. (Either the original or clone). He pushed for something bigger and better.
General park upkeep takes time. They just did a ton of work on Batman, he mentioned they hired a landscape supervisor now.
Yes, bull needs a painting, yes XFlight needs a painting but keep in mind, those are done by outside companies so it’s all done on the 3rd parties schedules.
My understanding is there’s only a handful of companies that paint coasters across the whole country. It’s not like they have all these choices.
I’m not a huge fan of dive coasters because they usually are unimpressive after the first drop but this looks awesome. Our parks commitment to no mid course break run will help and it’s going to pack a punch
Also, in terms of everything else, the park already announced a revamp of a kids area for 2026 so It’s coming.
In regard to the LT thing, it’s why I personally hope they go the Snoopy route. For kids right now, Snoopy is more recognizable. They have been making new series around Snoopy and the Charlie Brown specials are still popular. It’s more recognizable than LT.
They also spent a lot of money to fix STT and they needed to bring in a helicopter to fix it. Rapids is old but they keep investing in it.
The merger will benefit all legacy Six Flags parks greatly. Heck, the park already hired an executive chef, which was a CF thing.
As someone who cares about beauty, myself, and likes to nitpick, I can say this for sure: I can guarantee that the general public will be too infatuated with the new shiny blue toy in the middle of the park to notice if the little, "TLC," things haven't been done.
In fact, the upgrades like Viper and Eagle's retracking, STT, etc., are somewhat of a bonus since we are getting such an awesome looking coaster. The park could have easily diverted all attention to Wrath and nothing else. Isn't the ticket scanning area supposed to get a facelift too? AND the whole front entrance has been widened. Compared to even a year ago, I am so happy with the direction this park is heading and I welcome the new changes. The park MUST change with the times. Nostalgia is huge, and I appreciate it, but we will get our fix for the 50th. After all, if the park was in a static Marriott's state, many things would be antiquated. Our coaster lineup is what makes our park. Next year's kids area is the icing on the cake, addressing the park's biggest eyesore.
^ Yeah, they have been beautifying and renovating slowly but surely for a year now. Not everything can get done all at once. Like you said, I’m sure next year will be a great opportunity to get lots of work done that has been put off. I personally hope to see the former Revolution area get a facelift. All of those poles with mini benches around them is so ugly lol. Just give it time..
Yeah the new landscaper is huge. What killed me about the past few years was that most of the flowers that were planted in April (especially in the back by Eagle) were dead by early June. I don’t know if it was the weather or something else, but that was a waste.

Speaking of "Marriott's State" i honestly never understood why they got rid of the thing that held alot of trees and green on the left side of the carousel, i thought that was ok in my opinion, and it seperated Carousel Plaza and Orleans Place

One thing I noticed is the forms for the grouting on some of the supports which is a really good thing! Confirms they aren’t waiting for the whole coaster to be finished.
I think I understand a bit more on the lack of new track work. From the tour it looks like they've been busy with the lift installing Electrical components, conduits, and the lift chain return.
Interested to see what he means by theming around the ride course..maybe that just means the audio on the lift, who knows! Also excited to see how the creative team will redo the Demon entrance for portal. I’m glad to hear John cares about theming and the overall ride experience.
