To be honest, I think we would benefit best from a kiddie coaster/camp cartoon &/or kidzopolis revamp. I'd like to see both kids areas be redone. I've always wanted to see a kids coaster themed to Marvin Martian. Always thought that would be cute. One could totally fit in next to Spaceleys now with two flats gone. One of the single helix Zamperla coasters, call it Marvin Martian Madness ;) imagine camp cartoon being rethemed to Looney tunes space camp. Kinda out of place but just makes enough sense. Summer camp would be better but again, something - the area is bad.

Why not just retheme Sprocket Rocket to Marvin?, Then add a few kids/family rides in the empty pads?

We need a new Looney Tunes area in general, sucks we're low on space because i'd like a big immersive/well themed one
Old Great America was better, however I hope just a bit of that charm comes back

I think some people, including myself, are realizing how much Six Flags has ruined alot of the original theming and Marriott elements, i know there's people that care about park preservation still, but i think in the long run, theming and guest experience matters more than a new coaster. Great America, out of all Six Flags parks has the most potential in the theming and family aspect, and with Dinsye becoming pricier, Great America really could fill that gap.

I'm just over with Roller Coasters at the park with the limited space, and think that money could be better spent somewhere else

Give me a family launch coaster that kids 38/39in can ride... Otherwise just forget it. I know I've said this multiple times but Big Bear Mountain, fantastic ride. Guardians of the Galaxy, fantastic ride. We got rid of our wild mouse (family ride). We need something that families are able to ride. Make it happen six flags/ Cedar Fair.

Few things;
1- We still have a Wild Mouse, It's called Dark Knight
2- Guardians of the Galaxy cost around 500m
3- I'd rather Big Bear Mountain over a Dive Machine or Single Rail

Face the facts!
You guys are always talking about theming and comparing to rides that cost a fortune like Guardians. Guardians works cause of the theming and immersiveness but getting the same ride as just a normal coaster would be meaningless without the theming. Those cars are specifically designed to turn to face a “scene “ that is set up.

My point is stop thinking we have a theme park because Six Flags is an amusement park that specializes in high trill rides and not theming. Yes Marriott was a highly themed park when it first opened as were the 3 ground up original Six Flags parks, but the theme park brand of six flags has long been gone and is not coming back anytime soon. Or is it? Sure Cedar Fair lately has given us some minimal theming with new rides and areas but if you want theming that’s what Disney & Universal are for, not a regional amusement park company that has many many parks they have to spread out capex on.

Anyways since next year is the parks 50th season of operation and they decided to celebrate it that way instead of the actual anniversary I’m guessing next years coaster will be big, whatever it is!

Well one, i didn't ask for that coaster
Two, since it's mostly Cedar Fair people running the show, the wealth won't be equal anymore. Thus we're going to see real big investments in these parks. Plus Cedar Fair does a good job with Knott's so why not give that same treatment to Great America.

IT just makes more sense, especially with how themed Great America is compared to other Six Flags parks

NGL, a Road Runner family launch coaster would go hard tho for Great America, too bad there's not a lot of space by Southwest Territory

I think our park can definitely be partially restored to its former glory. They could easily spend 1-2 years investing money into the beautification of the park. What they did to Revy's former site is atrocious. I mean ACTUALLY making the park beautiful.

I'd like to see an overhaul of both kids areas. They're dump sites that have no life. We used to have such a great offering of kids areas. That needs to come back.

That being said, I know that is not going to happen in 2025. I'm not sure where the dive rumors were fabricated, but if it is true, I hope we get something custom. It is clear that whatever is coming is going to be put in Battle's old site. I can see them tearing down Demon Funnel, which hasn't opened in a few seasons, and even using the land behind it where the small pond sits. I think they will also utilize the Bloodshed / Sky Trail land as well. It would be so cool to have the drop dive underneath the midway and rise up into the immelmann on the other side at the Sky Trail plot. That is the only feasible way I could see the potential dive coaster using that small piece of land. I'd be all for a drop under the midway. It would be an amazing spectacle for riders and guests watching from the ground. I would guess that the station will be close to where Battle's station resides. Maybe not exactly, but I can guarantee the station will be in the Battle plot. I can see the lift ascending south towards X-Flight. Three trains would be nice; however, I prefer Emperor over Dr. Diabolical due to the lack of a block brake. I haven't done Iron Menace yet, but it is safe to say that I would prefer a mini-dive without a mid-course.

A dive is not what I would like to see and I don't think a giga is realistic at our park. I think an Intamin Multi-Launch like Batman: Gotham City Escape would be the perfect fit for our park. But, I'm not in charge and I know that would never happen. Nonetheless, if we get a dive, I just hope it is not a clone. It sucks that we will be adding another short coaster, but it fits the pattern. I have to look at it with a "glass half full" mentality. I am excited to find out what the future holds for Great America.
Been to may theme parks, in many countries. However, SFGAm is my home park and I love it!

I'm a bit more pessimistic for Great America, I just hope the theme and cohesion doesn't end up getting destroyed, the last thing i want is the park tp dump coasters like Magic Mountain or Great Adventure

For were revolution used to be i could see them bringing back the carousel that used to be there from the Marriott era, as they still have it in storage.

With Marvin being my favorite Looney Tunes character of all time, a whole land theme around him would be out-of-this-world. I know this would never happen, but I would prefer if they tore out the theater behind Camp Cartoon and used the space to either make the coaster bigger or possibly even expand the land. I don’t think the picnicking area has been used in forever, as it seems to always be blocked off. SF could just make the land huge and connect DC Universe to Yukon Territory. I also wouldn’t mind the land being a mix of Peanuts and space, Camp Snoopy, or Looney Tunes Movie Town as long as they make the entrance look like the Looney Tunes Movie Town entrance at Six Flags America. That entrance stuns me every time. I really just don’t want it to be themed to PLANET Snoopy as those aren’t usually themed that well in my opinion compared to the Camp Snoopys.

GreatAmericanfox wrote:NGL, a Road Runner family launch coaster would go hard tho for Great America, too bad there's not a lot of space by Southwest Territory

I’m actually someone who wants Justice League to be teared out, so they could either move JL or get rid of it entirely to make room. Then, SF could just extend Southwest Territory or make a new sub-land of Southwest Territory like “Looney Tunes Canyon” or “Yomesite Sam’s Dusty Gulch.” If they needed room, the could make the land go under Demon.

I didn’t know the park still had it in storage! That would be an easy thing to set up and they could market it as being brought back from the early days of the park!

You hit the nail on the head here. For all the talk of “Great America needs more theme-ing!!”there is just so much more.

Today I was at Dollywood and it reminds me so much of Great America in the 80s. Remember the booths that sold the custom wooden signs? Or the suspension bridge we used to have?

Wanting the park to be what it used to be would require money no one has or wants to spend. When Great America opened Batman, they marketed it something that wasn’t at Disney. That was a world class statement at the time. No one is making that statement any more.

The park needs a world class coaster. No one is gonna fly from Florida to come to Great America because of a new Snoopy Land or Bugs Bunny Land part two. A nice shiny new elite coaster will though, especially if you make it bucket list level.

Which is why so many are convinced 2025 is the new coaster year.

With that said, yes the park needs many things. From coasters to beautification. If you've been on this forum a long time, you can go back & see how I've talked about a family coaster, getting another kiddie coaster, a sky screamer, new restaurants, fixing up old structures, repaints to rides & buildings, fountains in the reflection pool, a new entrance (that's finally happening) etc. there's soooo much that's needed & even more that's wanted but I do think a giga falls into both categories. It would bring in a lot of people & is easily marketable. I mean anything can he hella marketable but a giga just feels it would do so well here, not only complementing Bull but the entire coaster lineup. We're very well rounded & that just adds to the incredible arsenal of thrills at the park.

Disagree, i think a low end park, or a park with a lot of space could use a giga way more than Great America

A low end park won't be able to afford a Giga............

Whizzer is a family coaster and has super low height requirement! Also Little Dipper (which I would remove if I ran the park personally the ride is a waste of space) , Sprocket Rocket, Dark Knight and even Demon with its 42 inch requirement. I would argue that all those fit into the "Family ride" category.

As for a Vekoma coaster here, PASS please....... Not a fan of Vekoma at all. I would welcome a B&M family Invert like Phoenix Rising though.

We could use one more great flat such as a Screaming Swing! I rode Sky Striker and other frisbees and they just don't seem to have the consistent airtime like a Screaming Swing does on both ends.

Good Gravy has to be the dumbest name ever! Why not Gravy Train (nice play on words eh!)??

Disney = ALL SHOW and NO GO! Mostly boring, non-thrilling rides that are for kids 6-10 years old! I don't get why many people want to copy Disney. Super overpriced , massively overhyped, super large crowds with nothing thrilling.

I'd rather try and copy Kings Island or Cedar Point (both of which have minimal theming BTW) or Busch Gardens Williamsburg or Tampa (minus the animals) or Dollywood.

While it mat be true that a Bugs Bunny land won't attract people from outside IL (coaster enthusiasts), it probably would for families in the area, especially if it's nicely done. Statistically, families usually spend more money in park than teens or coaster thoosies, so by adding something that can attract families, Six Flags can earn money off of that. Also both of our kid areas suck now too, and really need to be replaced or refurbished badly
Old Great America was better, however I hope just a bit of that charm comes back

I'd rather try and copy Kings Island or Cedar Point (both of which have minimal theming BTW) or Busch Gardens Williamsburg or Tampa (minus the animals) or Dollywood.

I wouldn't go full on Disney, i'd do more like what Knott's is doing, Thrilling Coasters, but also have some rides for the family audience, especially with the potential that is there. I think alot of people are done with Disney's crap and are looking for cheaper alternatives, like Great America, especially for us Chicago residents.

I also agree with you on removing Little Dipper, but because of it's historical significance, it would be bad pr for Six Flags

Exactly! Great America is a thrill park. I'm all for bringing back the theming and family additions, but let's get real here. Raging Bull, Maxx Force and Goliath are the main reasons people come to Great America. Cedar Fair knows this and almost certainly has plans in the works for a major new coaster at Great America
