I hope this turns well for Great America, personally i think they should go back to theming and give the Looney Tunes more respect that they deserve, instead of a Giga like everyone says
Hi i'm new here btw
Old Great America was better, however I hope just a bit of that charm comes back

I wouldn't be too worried, most likely just part of the deal for him to stick around a couple years and collect his parachute before jumping.
He’s definitely not there long term. And they did say he would spent most of his time overseas.
But he did stage a coo to oust Spanos
Six Flags should be in much better hands. They say that each of the companies parks will operate as they are. But there’s going to be overlapping IP. And the name “Cedar Fair” won’t exist anymore.
There will be one all encompassing pass at some point plus the likely end of accepting the legacy memberships
I don’t think they will ever out Six Flags name on Cedar Fair parks, but other branding and stuff will eventually likely happen

I hope they retheme both of the kids areas. One to Looney Tunes and one to Planet Snoopy. As far as a giga goes. If they were to build one. In my opinion, they would have to remove roaring rapids for the station and have it go straight out over the water
I've thought of removing Roaring Rapids, as it's my least favorite of the 3 Water Rides. Tho i also don't feel 100% satisfied about that idea as the River Rapids are from the Marriott era (very late addition but still), are a good contrast to the 2 flumes in Yankee Harbor, and they'll probably name the giga after a DC Character, which I've had enough of
I also think they should remove the Go Karts maybe for a Looney Tunes land, i get that they may be fun, but i don't think we should have uncharged attractions anymore, especially for some Go karts you can do anywhere else

How about a rethemed kids area AND the Giga (Iron Eagle: Soaring to New Heights) by B&M? Rome wasn't built in a day and all the changes/improvements we hope for will take several years!
As for the Rapids, if they aren't ever going to operate, they can go. What about putting one large kids area there? Is there enough space for that? The kids area at Kings Island is amazing and it's all one contiguous area.

If you're implying that the giga can go where American Eagle is now, they can't do that due to zoning laws

Probably a hot take but I wouldn’t mind seeing Aquaman go. Logger’s is much more popular from my understanding (when it’s opening) and Aquaman is more or less a clone. I don’t think we would be losing much from its loss. Sure, might be hard to build something in its place since it kind of shares land with Logger’s but I think there’s enough room for a new flat ride at least behind Steelworks Pub. (If Steelworks is removed, then there’s even more room!)

I like Yankee Clipper better than Loggers because you get more wet on it! I think it's all or none with the flumes in terms of staying or going.

Disagree on both takes, both are good in their own ways, i can't bare to see both of them go unless they replace it with a bigger and better water flume, something like Splash Mountain at Disney

I don't dislike Loggers. I rode it 10x straight one day! I just like the soaked level I get consistently on Yankee Clipper (when it's actually running)

Once Cedar Fair is in control. I don't expect the 3 water rides in the dry park to be around for much longer. Cedar Fair will want to add major CAPEX attractions in order to drive organic growth at Great America and those water rides take up a lot of valuable real estate.

They better not, those rides are historic, i'd be pissed if they removed them just for a stupid giga or dive coaster just because coaster enthusiasts want one

Keep in mind that the CEO is not all powerful. The board still has to approve capital expenditures which will be split 50/50 with SF and CF people with Salim being Chairman of the board!
I also don’t think we will see the effects of the merger until 2026. Most of 2025 plans are likely submitted and finalized by now.

I hate to say it, but it is looking more likely than not that Cedar Fair removes them. Just taking a look at our sister park, as recently as 2017, Logger’s Run was removed. Looking at some other CF properties, they removed the log flume at Carowinds in 2009 that was built under original ownership, the rapids ride at Carowinds in 2018 that was built under original ownership, and the flume ride at Valleyfair in 2008, built a year after original ownership.
The ride I think is easily the most vulnerable is Roaring Rapids considering how it takes up such a massive piece of land. However, since the ride was just refurbished, CF would probably sell the ride as a newly refurbished ride so that the money spent refurbishing the ride doesn’t go to waste.
On a side note, so you guys think that a retheme from Kidzopolis to Planet Snoopy or a retheme from Camp Cartoon to Camp Snoopy is more likely? My money is on the latter.

Rapids isn’t going anywhere. They can’t sell the Rapids. It’s built into the ground. And Roaring Rapids is a generic name so there’s no name or IP to sell. It’s not open this year because they are waiting a part
Given that Aquaman was just repainted and themed to DC, I doubt that goes anywhere either. Water rides may not be as popular in other parks but they are immensely popular at ours and it would be a mistake to take them out.
Every park is also treated differently.
Also CF is NOT in control. Their CEO might be the new CEO but Salim is still chairman of the board and the board will be evenly split with SF and CF members. So Salim and the board would have to approve anything Zimmerman does.
