Brace yourselfs (I got that from the weather channel) everyone.
Tomorrow is the day.
Since tomorrow BIG for us why don't we talk about their 2003 SFGAm season memories. Here is mine:
Superman Ultimate Flight and Deja Vu.
Sorry for a long story.
Here is the story:
It was the Tornado warning we hade ( Chicago people know what I'm Talking about). I was at SFGAm when it happened. My family and I were at Mooseburgers. It was raining hard and also Thundering and a little bit of lightning. So we ran into Mooseburgers and ordered. We were eating and we heard a noise outside. We just thought it was thunder, the intensity of the rain, of Iron Wolf. Then 5 minutes later they announced this at Mooseburgers " Every one please dont panic but there is a Tornado warning in the area. Then we went outside to see what was happening. The sound was the sigrens going around SFGAm. The rain was intense and it wouldnt even stop. When the rain FINALLY stopped we made a run for our car. The SFGAm employees are going around telling people that are running for their car also to stay under shelter of shelter yourself. My Family and me made it all the way to SuperMan Ultimate Flight until the rain picked up again. It didnt take as long for the rain to slow down this time. So we get to the car and turn on "News Radio 780" and they told us that almost the whole State is under a Tornado Warning. We make it home safely and turn on the Weather Channal. The Radio was right almost the whole state WAS under a Tornado Warning. There was no Tornado though. It was just the way the wind was shifting the cloudes to make it look like rotation. It was REALLY SCARY.
How about you?
It's green. It's blue. It's all over you! Enjoy your ride on Déjà Vu
My best memory from last year was the same day as you, with the Tornado sirens and stuff. Unlike you though I wasn't panicing or looking for shelter, instead I just stood outside the S:UF queue almost the whole time. M
While we were waiting for Superman, about midway through the storm and after a show let out in Theatre Royale, some guy decided he would dove into a puddle and slide across the ground. He did it once and everyone who had just got out of the show and was staying under the cover of the building cheered, then the second time he did it he smacked his head off the ground really hard. It was too funny.
I dout this was the same day because I don't think there wasa tornado warning, but I got in line for S:UF with my friend and it was about to rain the sky was all black.
So it took us I'd say 15 mins to get into the station. When we got in it started to drizzle, I though ok that fine just don't rain hard. Then we sit in the seats and it starts to pur out. They make us get out and stand back in line. The sky was all black and green there was lightning everywhere. We sat in the station for a good hour and a half.
The rain was starting to let up kind of but my friend wanted to leave then so we left. But it was so cool watching all the lightning from the station. My friend never did end up riding S:UF last year, only got to sit in the seat
My best time? It had to have been Mother's Day. We got there and it was about to rain, so we wanted to find a coaster to ride. We finally got on Iron Wolf after waiting like 10 minutes, then went on Batman. We were there the whole day, and that was pretty much what we did.
Definitely November 2nd when me and my friend had tons of rides because of an empty park. I also got a chance to ride Deja Vu in front. (1B because Dave and Tom were there for 1A )Wow, that was a great day. Nine rides on Bull, once in each row. We did two 6-ride marathons right at the end of the day, riding our favorite super heroes. We got the last public ride for 2003 for S:UF in the back row.
cloudy day turned to massive t-storms. my friends and I headed into Mooseburger for lunch. it started pouring worse than I've ever seen it so we considered ourselves lucky to have gotten inside before the storm.
well, during lunch, there was this little boy standing behind me. he was looking up at one of the statue carvings and he was feeling himself up. yeah...I actually didn't see it, but my friends sure did. they tried to get me to turn around, but when I did, I missed it.
anyway, after that, we left our table and stood outside next to the outdoor concession stand attached to Mooseburger. there were some other people out there to who were playing games, but we decided to stay dry and wait for the storm to pass. out of nowhere, there's this big boom and the power goes out.
it was a little freaky, but no one panicked. we noticed something interesting, though. the Coke fountains still work without power. we thought about stealing some drinks, but none of us was brave enough. when the rain lightened, we ran around the back of the park over to DV and Demon. the rides were all operating as the lightening had moved out of the area, but the rain kept everyone under the covered bridges. it was pretty funny to see so many people packed into a small area, but it also smelled a bit too.
we chilled by DV games for a bit and listened in on the employees conversations of power outages all around the park. when the rain lightened up again, we made our way to RB where we waited to be the first in line. that was a cold, cold trip on the Bull, but we had fun.
good times. good times.
I don't have a detonator; its on a timer.
A countdown timer?
No, a count-up timer. It goes from one to explode.
My best day was when I got on 6 coasters in 1 hour then the crowds started to pick up so I left. I think I had better days but I can't remember.
Those Tornado days sound intresting and scary.
What puzzles me is SfGaMownz day: The sky was black and green? Night black or grayish black like the water in clouds?
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/
My best memories from last year would have to be riding DejaVu then sprinting to SUF and getting on the last train of the night.
Also, my cousin and I were riding V2 in the back, and someone in line stuck their hand out while we were going through the station so the emergency brakes stopped us. We waited there for about 10 minutes, then we reached back to the right spot in the station and the said we could rid again! So 2 rides in a row!!
Terrable storm and in line for superman, left and hung out at the mall. First time ive been stung by a wasp/bee/thingie in line for superman, and it was 4 times.
These memories weren't last year, but they are my best memories:
1.) Seeing DMX at Raging Bull and walking with him out of the park.
2.) About 2 years ago, at night, my brother and I went on Loggers Run, about 5 times, and were SOAKED and we thought we'd get on Eagle before the park closes (it was like 10 mins till close). As we were going up the hill, it totally stopped at the top and we were up there for about 40 minutes. (Freezing because the wind was blowing up there) Well, the people came up and told us we had to WALK DOWN THE HILL because they couldn't get it going and it was already about 10:40. Well, we had to walk down and then they gave us one of those passes where U can go up the exit to whatever ride w/out having to wait in a line. At first it was scary walking down then it became fun..... Were any of you guys there that night???
