Also, that logic makes no sense. Did they "spruce up" camp cartoon when Goliath came in? Nope, if anything it's gotten worse and more decrepit. What about hangover, or Maxx Force? Also no.
What about Joker? Okay, maybe there's an argument there.
Just because a new thing opens in the vicinity of an old one, it doesn't mean that old ride is doomed immediately.
Goku - WHY should the park keep dumping $$ into a ride that the majority of people no longer find relevant?
As for Goliath and Camp Cartoon, they are separate areas. Camp Carton isn't part of Goliath's area.
As for rough woodies it's all relative. I think one of THE roughest wooden coasters I've been on was Pegasus at Mt. Olympus! For a small ride that thing was awful.

Eagle not relevant?
I see it with a line all the time. I have no idea what you're on. When I went on it last week people were waiting for it to open at the entrance and we were backed up all the way to the games. Not a bad pre-opening line for a ride that's not relevant.
To be honest I think the eagle closing rumors got big enough to hit the public, it seems to be getting more and more popular ever since covid, so much in fact that they added a flash pass queue to it
Some time, on way to successful, first of steps of all of the steps to being successful steps are hardest of all of the steps to successing.

It no longer has flash pass. That was a failed attempt that they thankfully got rid of.
And yes, Eagle is still popular. Way more popular than some people believe.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

For everyone who has ridden already, what do you think?
When I rode, the one thing I noticed from the others I've done including SFFT & SFMx, is that it doesn't have that bounce at the top thankfully. Sky Striker is very smooth. I think this thing is going to be as popular as one of the major coasters. It's fun as hell to ride & watch. I think it's a perfect addition to the park honestly & it looks way bigger in person.
My onride reaction is posted on instagram to CoastsToCoasters along with some of the offride drone shots they filmed. I really love the ride & hope you all do as well. Hope you all have a fantastic 2024 season riding!
On May 17 I was at the park for a few hours, Friday afternoon. I saw a couple mgmt types and asked when SS would open. I looked closely and I was, in fact, talking with John K. I asked about Eagle. It's definitely staying for good. I asked about RMC and Titan track, firm no, too expensive. I asked about racing. The goal is getting both sides running together and consider racing again. I think the new portal looks great and the reno to back of park looks great too, the sightlines to SS are amazing from Goliath. AND Eagle isn't a forgotten thing hidden behind a shared entrance. I attended the ACE / Press Day event in 1981. Those legendary rides were THAT good. I am delighted to know Eagle isn't going anywhere and has a fresh look next to the new star attraction. Anybody know when SS will open ? I'm psyched. Thanks Rob for the awesome You Tube vid!

A date TBD…. LOL sorry, smart ass remark. I just still can’t believe they did a media day without an opening date.
Aw dang Rob, sad I missed ya on Thursday! I will Admit, I get why people are upset they don't have an opening date but I understand them not wanting to announce it only to have to push it back if need be. I'm sure they just need the ride to be presentable. It's rideable but has a lot to go in terms of beautification. I cant See it opening any later than next week honestly. I think it's just about there.
Still a little weird it's for Legacy Members only. Almost seems like they're obligated to do it since it's listed as a perk for them, maybe?
Merger dependent I think these legacy Memberships are going away so I might as well take advantage while I have the chance. I'll plan to be there despite the fact we already had a full day planned for Saturday.
Edit: Got the e-mail, it also confirms the public opening for Saturday.

My plan was to arrive extra early to get on Sky Striker, but the Saturday SS is opening is the worst Saturday of the month for me. Does anybody know the soonest Flash Pass One-Shots will be able to be purchased for the ride?
I just noticed it now that I'm back home with access to a computer. I was on my phone.
I don't see this lasting long. While the ride will be super popular, it won't be like Goliath with an impossibly long line that moves slowly. Remember how insane Goliath was around opening time in 2014.....

It’s probably a way to test the virtual queuing thing like Disney does. The idea of it goes back to even when Spanos was CEO. They said it’s only for a few weeks.
Everyone follows what Disney does sadly, and Disney's parks aren't doing particularly well these days.
I don't see this lasting weeks, so don't worry too much. When I went to King's Island for Orion' they were doing reservations and I was there not long after its opening day....maybe 2 weeks or so after.
They had it in the morning and it was gone by mid-day. Reservations will most likely be enforced for a bit then dumped.
One thing I did see at the park that was concerning was the amount of queue space for Striker...they probably could have fit an overflow on the side between X-Flight if Guests entered on the same side where the power building is....but no.

Yeah. I guess they didn’t learn there lesson from MaxxForce with the obnoxious amount of queue space.

Yes! That queue was like 4 hours long lol it was a lot. I waited in those cattle pens in front of & in the train station with little to no shade even after doing the events for that ride. I don't know how I did That twice. Could not do it today! Haha
Well, this is very weird to me & I think it's going to confuse & p*ss off the GP cause even with signs posted through the park, many people are going to walk up to that thing confused & not knowing.

Of course. It’s Six Flags. They won’t execute it correctly.
