How about PTC trains? And can PTC trains even run on Gravity Group track?
Would not call myself a great but thank you haha. I'm pretty new to YT.
PTC trains can most certainly run on Gravity Group track. PTC's run on ground up Gravity Group coasters like Boardwalk Bullet and Voyage, while PTC trains also run on Gravity Group retrack projects like Racer.

What is up with Eagle's trains? Seems they are tearing the hell out of the structure (why racing is no longer possible?). I've heard them called Frankenstein trains, a mish-mash of makers/parts.
They're really no different from other 3 row PTC's as far as I know.
Eagle cycles their trains each year, there are three total for each side and you'll notice them change every season. Just part of the maintenance schedule.
As for what's tearing it apart, most of it comes from age, the weight of the trains combined, and the way wooden coasters are designed. Turns out we learned a lot since the 80's.
From what I've heard from an internal source, the Barrel is the big reason why it doesn't race anymore. The force of both trains feeding each other ended up putting so much strain on the structure it caused a cable to snap. Lack of staffing is just an easy excuse seeing as you need double to run both sides.
I can't even begin to understand what it would take to get it racing again because I don't think the track is the biggest issue, it's the support structure beneath it.

Agreed. Most certainly the structure.

When the park switched from buzz bars to individual lapbars it was done in house, which makes the park itself the manufacturer of the train, as far as I know PTC will not support them in any way. Other than that the chassis should still be pretty close to PTC spec.
If I had to guess the structure is fine too, I'd bet money the lack of racing comes down to $$$ and Staffing.

Very, VERY unlikely situation here, but what if the park dumped a whole butt-load of money into American Eagle to replace the support structure for the barrel, repaint most of the ride, put on new Gravity Group track, new PTC trains, rerouted the queue, and brought back racing. However, the park would market that as their new coaster instead of something like a Dive or Raptor.

ONLY if they increase the banking of both helix's, And maybe having a steeper drop and a tunnel would be enough to market it as a new addition?-- Certainly more than DC Universe

1. Where is Black Manta in the land? The sign? The queue for Aquaman? 2. I wonder if people would have been more okay with DC coming in if they named the land "DC HARBOR" instead of Universe. Kind of like a homage to Marriott. At least we still have those posters for the lands behind the Carousel.

DC Super Villains Swing, and I also came up with the idea for DC Harbour 2 years before this retheme happened.

I just saw that video too, but I would have to disagree. Flash is still very popular. Cedar Fair may have removed Wicked Twister, but Wicked Twister wasn’t popular. It’s a different case with Flash. Does Flash cost a lot to maintain? Yes. If the ride is popular though, Cedar Fair will have no problem keeping it, which the ride is. Besides, there isn’t much room around Flash. Even if Captain Cold is removed, the replacement would have to interweave with the log flumes. Since Zimmerman isn’t as greedy as Selim, he will no doubt see that the Buccaneer Battle-Go-Kart track is the bigger fish to fry.

Who said a coaster had to replace flash? They could bring back the lighthouse from the Marriott era and create some nice landscaping there. I've thought about adding a seafood restaurant on the peninsula where you can also watch people going down Logger's run, but i forgot this isn't Yankee Harbor anymore : (
Old Great America was better, however I hope just a bit of that charm comes back
No no no. Stop removing so much. LOL I know it's inevitable but blah. I love how Joker is placed in the park. He's got some time left. A lot actually. Also agree that Flash ain't goin anywhere. I have thought about a Sky Rocket 2 next to Superman though or somewhere in the DC area. Call it Green lantern, theme it to Sojourner Mullein - a strong powerful poc. BAM! Now we got a strong female lead for once over Superman, Batman & flash or even Wonder Woman gettin all the DC credit lately.
As for what I think is getting removed next - Buccaneer Battle lol. & the go karts. Maybe even Demon. I have always been against Demon leaving but at this point- I see it happening more once those rocks were removed & not fixed. I was shocked they didn't just fix or enhance them when it's been an iconic part of the ride for decades.

Eh, looking at this Ice Breaker coaster, it just dosen't really fit in the spirit of the park in my opinion. Maybe it's just me really waning the theming to come back but idk

I agree with your views on Flash and Joker. (Actually just rode Joker for the first time this year. Crazy fun. Keep him for a few more years, please.) The park could always place a Sky Rocket 2 in Mardi Gras Hangover’s plot. Hopefully one with a turntable to increase capacity. Maybe name it Bacchus Booster. The park could probably fit in a couple good flats or a kiddie coaster next to Battle for Metropolis. The park could just move the employee pathway to under Demon. If I’m being honest, I wouldn’t mind another launch coaster anywhere in the park. I’m sorry, but I think the park needs a less-intense launch coaster if they are removing Flash (which the park isn’t). There is also some room behind the Gotham City Arcade for a flat. I would love a Mondial Wind Seeker in the middle of the park. Revolution is a whole new can of worms between the pavement and the room that Cotton Candy Factory or whatever it’s called takes up. The picnic grounds that I believe are never used could be replaced with who-knows-what. Kidzopolis might have enough room to fit a kiddie coaster where the stage is. There definitely is enough room where Bloodshed is. Of course, there’s the Go-Karts, Buccaneer Battle, and the Flash’s plot that have been discussed. Are there any other plots of land in the park large enough for at least a flat that I forgot?
CoasterRiderSC wrote:What about sending Joker to Frontier City ?
Joker’s pretty good to be fair, although I usually skip it when I’m at the park.
I’ve ridden Green Lantern during its time at Magic Mountain. That ride deserves all the hate it got.
I guess it's all one's preference: I've been on 4 of the S&S Free Spins : our Joker, Joker at SFOT, Dragon Slayer (Adventureland), Tumbili (BGW). They're pretty much all the same : boring/not thrilling and very short.
Alternatively , V2 would look great at Frontier City where Diamondback is located. Would be a huge upgrade for them.

Sure, but that doesn’t make it worth moving just because “some” people don’t prefer to ride it, myself included. The problem is Joker always has a line and seems to be popular.
Doesn’t Hurler have the same problem? KD’s was RMC’d but the Carolina version remains popular with their audience. Why fix something that isn’t broken? They won’t just because die hard coaster fans think it’s “boring.”
Yeah but, point is whether you like it or not, whether I love it or you hate it, it remains popular. It's impossible for every ride to be for everyone. Joker is here to stay.
